WWE Rumors on LA Knight, Drew McIntyre, Wyatt Sicks and Latest Roster Cuts

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
McIntyre, Knight Reportedly Moving Past Royal Rumble Controversy
There reportedly aren't any hard feelings between Drew McIntyre and LA Knight despite a miscommunication between them at the Royal Rumble and a subsequent segment they were involved in together on SmackDown.
According to Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), there is no real tension between McIntyre and Knight coming out of the Rumble and their match on SmackDown.
During the late stages of the men's Royal Rumble match, McIntyre was eliminated by Damian Priest, but it came across somewhat clunky since Knight and Logan Paul appeared to overlap into the spot when battling each other.
PWInsider.com (h/t Carrier) reported last week that McIntyre was "screaming and cursing" backstage after the spot went awry and said "someone had to get their moves in" rather than allowing his elimination the spotlight it required.
McIntyre reportedly "stormed out of the building" before the men's Rumble ended, leaving many to speculate on where things stood between McIntyre, Knight and WWE as a whole.
Per PWInsider Elite (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats) it was later confirmed that McIntyre was primarily unhappy with Knight because he felt Knight's "errant movement killed the drama and momentum" of his elimination, which was meant to be the start of a rivalry with Priest.
On SmackDown, prior to an Elimination Chamber qualifying Triple Threat match between Knight, McIntyre and Jimmy Uso, Knight seemed to humorously allude to McIntyre's tirade, saying it was okay to cry and noting that he had to "get his stuff in."
Although there were some moments in the subsequent match where McIntyre and Knight appeared to lay some punches in on each other, Fightful noted that there were no issues afterward despite the added physicality.
McIntyre won the match to qualify for the Chamber match, and he will now set his sights on trying to earn a world title match at WrestleMania 41.
Bo Dallas Injury Reportedly Behind Wyatt Sicks Absence
The Wyatt Sicks have been off WWE programming for several weeks, and it reportedly may be due to a key member currently dealing with an injury.
According to PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson, Bo Dallas (aka Uncle Howdy) was not in Indianapolis for Royal Rumble weekend despite the other Wyatt Sicks members being present to take part in photo ops with fans.
Johnson noted that Dallas was never scheduled to be in Indianapolis and he "isn't currently on the road for the company."
It was previously reported by Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News) that the Wyatt Sicks' on-screen absence may have been due to one member being injured.
The Wyatts last competed in a match on the Dec. 9 episode of Raw when Final Testament members Karrion Kross and AOP along with The Miz beat Dallas, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy and Erick Rowan in an eight-man tag team match.
Since then, it was announced that the Wyatt Sicks moved from Raw to SmackDown, and the Final Testament has disbanded due to the reported release of AOP and Paul Ellering.
The Wyatt Sicks debuted in June 2024 with Dallas playing the role of the leader Uncle Howdy. The group is a tribute to the late Bray Wyatt, who was Dallas' real-life brother.
While future plans for the Wyatt Sicks once Dallas is healthy are unclear, they could potentially include Alexa Bliss.
PWInsider.com (h/t Carrier) reported last month that original plans called for Bliss to return on an episode of Raw as part of an angle with the Wyatt Sicks, however, those plans were put on hold.
Bliss did return in the women's Royal Rumble match, though, and she is seemingly part of SmackDown now, as she beat Candice LeRae in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on Friday's show.
Since Bliss worked closely with Wyatt in the past, it would make sense for her to either join or contest the Wyatt Sicks in the near future.
Reported Reason for Recent WWE Releases
WWE reportedly released several main roster Superstars on Friday and Saturday, and the company did so for a specific purpose.
According to Fightful Select (h/t Carrier), NXT sources believe the cuts were made in order to make room on the main roster for several Superstars who are poised to get called up from NXT in 2025.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported that WWE parted ways with Sonya Deville, Cedric Alexander, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Blair Davenport, Giovanni Vinci, Isla Dawn, Paul Ellering and AOP's Akam and Rezar.
Alexander was the only wrestler from that list who had been in NXT rather than on the main roster, but he had a lengthy main roster run before getting moved to NXT.
The majority of those who were released were either used sparingly or not at all on WWE programming over the past few months.
Perhaps the only exceptions to that are Deville, who was often on Raw as the leader of Pure Fusion Collection, and AOP who were part of the Final Testament stable with Karrion Kross.
While the crop of released Superstars were all talented and likely could have benefited from better usage, it is also true that there is only enough television time for so many people, particularly if plans are in place for call-ups in the near future.
In recent years, WWE has typically held a draft shortly after WrestleMania, and multiple Superstars tend to make the move from NXT to Raw or SmackDown as part of the draft.
Big-time prospects such as Roxanne Perez and Trick Williams could be in line for a call-up coming out of WrestleMania, and if that is the case, the releases may have created more room and opportunities for them to shine.

WWE Rumors on CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre and Alexa Bliss

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
WWE Reportedly Planning Reigns vs. Punk vs. Rollins
Following their interaction in the 2025 men's Royal Rumble match on Saturday, plans are reportedly in place for three of WWE's biggest stars to clash at WrestleMania 41.
According to PWInsider.com (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), the current plan calls for a Triple Threat match between Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.
During the late stages of the star-studded men's Royal Rumble match, Reigns and Rollins were battling near the ropes when Punk came up behind them and dumped them both out.
While Punk was admiring his work, Logan Paul sneakily threw him out as well, essentially taking out three top contenders in one fell swoop.
Punk, Reigns and Rollins then argued on the floor, and Rollins took out Reigns with a vicious stomp to the head before throwing hands with Punk.
Reigns and Rollins have issues that date way back to when Rollins ended The Shield by attacking Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
Rollins was also the most vocal critic of Punk when he returned to WWE in November 2023, and there are plenty of unresolved problems between them stemming from their match on the debut episode of Raw on Netflix.
Reigns and Punk have had some tense exchanges in recent months as well, although Punk did lend Reigns a helping hand back in November when he agreed to be part of his WarGames match at Survivor Series as a favor to Paul Heyman.
Of course, any of Reigns, Punk or Rollins could be moved into the world title scene at any time, but a match between them with no title on the line would be a huge addition to the WrestleMania card.
Assuming whoever wins earns a future title shot would ensure that there are important stakes involved as well.
McIntyre Reportedly Uncertain for Friday's SmackDown
Drew McIntyre did not appear on Raw this week following his shocking elimination from the men's Royal Rumble match, and it isn't yet clear if he will resurface on SmackDown.
According to PWInsider.com (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), McIntyre's status for SmackDown is uncertain, although it isn't a case of major issues between him and WWE.
PWInsider.com noted that McIntyre and WWE have remained in contact since his abrupt Rumble exit.
It was originally reported by PWInsider.com (h/t Carrier) that after Damian Priest eliminating McIntyre from the Rumble, Drew could be heard "screaming and cursing" backstage. McIntyre reportedly expressed his belief that his elimination didn't come off properly because "someone had to get their moves in," and he then "stormed out of the building."
Per Fightful Select (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), Priest was originally supposed to eliminate McIntyre before Logan Paul got into the ring as the 30th entrant, but that didn't happen for unknown reasons.
When Priest did eventually eliminate McIntyre, it came as Paul, LA Knight and Jey Uso were fighting to the side of them.
McIntyre reportedly felt Knight's "errant movement killed the drama and momentum" of his elimination, and believed it came off in a "clunky manner."
Adding to McIntyre's apparent frustration is the fact that the elimination was supposed to be the start of a feud between Drew and Priest, leading to a match at WrestleMania 41.
Since Priest recently moved from Raw to SmackDown, it would make sense for McIntyre to do the same, which suggests there is a solid chance the former WWE champion shows up Friday on the blue brand.
WWE Reportedly Considering SmackDown Move for Bliss
Despite initial plans to bring her back as part of the Raw brand, Alexa Bliss reportedly could be on the move.
According to PWInsider.com (h/t Carrier), there have been internal discussions about moving Bliss to SmackDown where she could potentially work with the Wyatt Sicks.
A little over a week before Royal Rumble, PWInsider.com (h/t Carrier) reported that WWE had scrapped plans for Bliss to return to WWE on the Jan. 13 episode of Raw on Netflix in San Jose, California.
Bliss was supposed to do something with the Wyatt Sicks, but the creative team was reportedly told to scrap the plans and put everything "on hold indefinitely."
There was reportedly a belief within WWE at the time that plans for Bliss' return were halted due to a contract issue, as she had "an older WWE deal" and reportedly wanted a new one before returning.
WWE and Bliss were able to get on the same page before Royal Rumble, as she returned in the women's Royal Rumble match, entering as a surprise at No. 21.
Fightful Select (h/t Carrier) later reported that WWE and Bliss came to terms on a new five-year deal.
Bliss had been gone for two whole years after going on maternity leave and having her first child, and that coupled with the surprising nature of her return resulting in one of the biggest pops of the night.
Prior to her absence, Bliss had been working with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, and at the Rumble, she wore a jacket that was a clear tribute to Wyatt, who tragically died in 2023 at the age of 36.
Given her history with Wyatt, moving Bliss to SmackDown and putting her with the Wyatt Sicks would likely be the most logical way to utilize her coming out of the Rumble.

WWE Rumors on The Rock Being 'Mad,' LA Knight-McIntyre Backstage Heat and Becky Lynch

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
The Rock Reportedly Unhappy with WrestleMania Report
With The Rock's WrestleMania 41 status very much in question, a new report emerged this week regarding The Rock's feelings on how his status as been reported on.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), The Rock wasn't thrilled when he and others reported as far back as October that The Final Boss had informed WWE he would not be able to compete at WrestleMania:
"There were things that were said … I reported the thing first back in, I guess October. Then November, December, all of a sudden, everybody started reporting it. And I kind of heard, 'Oh my God, Dwayne's mad that everyone's reporting it. He doesn't want this out.'"
After Meltzer's report first came out, The Rock responded to someone who brought it up to him on Instagram, writing: "Don't believe any of that bulls--t."
At around the time The Rock appeared at the end of Bad Blood in October, it was widely expected that WWE was building him up for a big match at WrestleMania.
The Rock appeared after Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match, but Meltzer said he was told there was no real reason for The Rock showing up, saying: "So why do you do this run-in? And it was basically, the people who know this are not happy that, you know, he went in there and stole the end of the show just to do that. Dwayne gets to do what Dwayne wants to do, and everyone has to live with that."
When The Rock appeared on the debut episode of Raw on Netflix last month, he gave Rhodes his props and even hugged the WWE champion.
It was a shocking development given their heated rivalry last year and the fact that The Rock strongly suggested after WrestleMania 40 that Cody was in his crosshairs.
While it could have been a way to throw fans off, The Rock seemed to bury the hatchet with Cody last month, and given that he did not appear at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, it may indeed be a sign that he won't be part of WrestleMania.
There is still time, and The Rock could turn WWE and WrestleMania on their head at any moment, but with the Showcase of the Immortals now just over two months away, that time is running out quickly.
Reported Details on McIntyre-Knight Rumble Snafu
Some additional details have emerged regarding Drew McIntyre's reported anger over how his Royal Rumble match elimination played out.
According to Fightful Select (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), Damian Priest was supposed to eliminate McIntyre before Logan Paul came into the match as the 30th entrant, however, that didn't happen.
Instead, the elimination occurred while LA Knight, Paul and Jey Uso were working a spot, and per PWInsider Elite (h/t Ortman), McIntyre felt Knight's "errant movement killed the drama and momentum" of his elimination.
McIntyre also felt his elimination came off in a "clunky manner," which hurt the beginning of his planned feud with Priest.
According to PWInsider.com (h/t Carrier), McIntyre was "screaming and cursing" backstage after his elimination over his belief that "someone had to get their moves in." McIntyre reportedly also "stormed out of the building" before the end of the Rumble match.
McIntyre did not appear on Monday night's episode of Raw, although it is unclear if he was ever supposed to.
If he is going to feud with Priest, it likely means McIntyre is moving to SmackDown since Priest recently joined the blue brand.
Despite McIntyre's apparent issues with Knight, BodySlam.net (h/t Ortman) reported that there is no heat on Knight from WWE's higher-ups.
Ultimately, the situation between McIntyre and Knight was likely a simple miscommunication, and it shouldn't be something that two professionals can't work past.
Lynch Reportedly Wasn't Planned for Royal Rumble
Many expected Becky Lynch to make her WWE return as a surprise entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match on Saturday, but it didn't come to fruition.
According to Fightful Select, Lynch was not planned for the Rumble and she was not in Indianapolis at any point during Royal Rumble weekend.
Lynch last appeared on WWE programming back in May when she lost a steel cage match to Liv Morgan on an episode of Raw. Just two days earlier, Morgan beat Lynch for the Women's World Championship at King and Queen of the Ring.
Becky's WWE contract expired after that, and while it was widely assumed that she would be back with the company eventually, it was not a sure thing.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported last month that Lynch had signed a new contract to return to WWE, although she was not planned for the debut episode of Raw on Netflix.
Many assumed that WWE was saving Lynch for the Royal Rumble, but that turned out to not be the case either.
With WrestleMania a little over two months away, it is fair to wonder if WWE may be planning to keep Becky off television until after WrestleMania at this point.
It is possible WWE already had a card in place and didn't want to disrupt it by throwing Lynch into the mix, which would explain her not being in the Rumble.
If that turns out to be true, Lynch could be saved for a surprise return on the Raw after WrestleMania, which is always the most highly anticipated Raw of the year.

WWE Rumors on Drew McIntyre Backstage, Alexa Bliss' Contract and 2025 Royal Rumble

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
Drew McIntyre Reportedly Upset After Rumble Elimination
Even though the Royal Rumble show overall was a huge success, there was something that went wrong in the men's match that didn't sit well with Drew McIntyre.
Per Mike Johnson of PW Insider (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), McIntyre was "screaming and cursing" when he made it backstage after being eliminated because he frustrated that "someone had to get their moves in" at the expense of other planned storyline angles in the match.
The report also notes that McIntyre "stormed out of the building" before the Rumble match ended.
Per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, this particular situation with McIntyre isn't an angle but didn't rule out the possibility of WWE turning it into an angle going forward.
Given the lack of information about who might have screwed up, it's hard to speculate about any potential repercussions for the person.
It's unclear at this point who the person was. Logan Paul and LA Knight were the only other wrestlers engaged in action when McIntyre was thrown over the top rope by Damian Priest. Priest inadvertently bumped into Knight as he was running up behind McIntyre to toss him out.
This isn't first time McIntyre has taken exception to something that happened on a major show. He reportedly stormed out of the arena after the WarGames match at Survivor Series 2023 on the show when CM Punk returned to WWE, though there was speculation that was part of an angle.
Alexa Bliss Contract Update
After rumors came out last week that Alexa Bliss and WWE were struggling to come to terms on a new contract, she made her long-awaited return as a surprise entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match on Saturday night.
Per Meltzer (h/t Carrier), WWE has confirmed Bliss signed a new deal but his "belief" is the company exaggerated any issues with the negotiations to swerve the audience.
There could be some validity to that theory since Michael Cole's first comment after Bliss' music hit was to say, "The internet said she wasn't coming back."
Johnson previously reported the creative team was told not to factor Bliss into any forthcoming plans due to a "contractual issue."
In Friday's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Colin Tessier of WrestleZone.com), Meltzer wrote Bliss and WWE were far apart on a new contract.
One reason for WWE to leak that Bliss was having a standoff with the company was to add another surprise entrant in the women's Rumble match. There weren't many after Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella, though the latter was probably expected given the rumors about her negotiating a return.
Bliss had been out of action since the 2023 Royal Rumble when she lost to Bianca Belair in a Raw women's title match. She gave birth to her first child with husband Ryan Cabrera in November 2023.
More Reported Royal Rumble Frustration
The frustration with how things played out in the men's Rumble weren't limited to just McIntyre.
Per Meltzer (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), there were multiple people who were "pissed" off at an unnamed superstar for trying to get himself over instead of the match:
"There's a guy that a lot of people were pissed at in that match, with the idea that he was trying to get himself over and not the match over, and he was doing things. I don't wanna mention his name, it'll probably come out tomorrow, because it's only one person telling me the name, but it's multiple people telling me that the Drew thing… he wasn't happy. It's not an angle. If they end up doing an angle with the person later–which there's no hints of anything. But I heard that Drew was not the only one unhappy about the situation."
The first tell that someone made other wrestlers upset is seeing if they have an extended absence from television. All of the featured players are going to get a lot of visibility for the next two months leading up to WrestleMania, but there might be a notable star who isn't around.
Another way to tell, barring any leaks to the media, is if a notable star ends up getting squashed in a match with someone like McIntyre. This could also just be something that blows over because it was a mistake in the moment.
Once the men's Rumble match settled down and the ring cleared out, it turned into a terrific main event. The bout ended with Jey Uso securing his spot at WrestleMania by eliminating John Cena to win.

Jey Uso Stuns John Cena to Win WWE Men's Royal Rumble for WrestleMania Title Match

Jey Uso won the 2025 men's Royal Rumble match on Saturday night, earning a guaranteed world title opportunity at WrestleMania 41.
Uso, who was the No. 20 entrant in the match, last eliminated WWE legend John Cena to secure the victory, stunning wrestling fans—and Roman Reigns was also quick to react:
This year's men's Rumble match was arguably among the most highly anticipated in WWE history, as several of the top Superstars on the roster announced their entry into the 30-man extravaganza in the weeks leading up to the event.
The first official entrant was Cena, who announced previously that 2025 will be his final year as an in-ring performer.
The 47-year-old is tied with Ric Flair for the most world title reigns of all time with 16, and he expressed his intention to enter and win the Rumble in order to earn a crack at world title No. 17 at WrestleMania.
Making his first appearance in a Royal Rumble match since 2020 was Roman Reigns, who went four straight years without being in the contest due to his status as the reigning world champion.
The Tribal Chief dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, but after taking care of business by beating Solo Sikoa to win back the ula fala and the title of Tribal Chief, Reigns shifted his focus back toward the world title.
Reigns' "Wiseman," Paul Heyman, recently warned Rhodes that Reigns intended to enter and win the Rumble to set up a rematch against him at WrestleMania 41.
CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre were a few of the other big-name Superstars who threw their hats into the Rumble ring as well.
In his first official match since returning to WWE, Punk finished as the runner-up to Rhodes in last year's match, and he entered the 2025 Rumble motivated to win in order to secure a top spot on the WrestleMania 41 card after missing out last year due to injury.
Rollins and McIntyre each won the Royal Rumble match one time previously, and they too had plenty of incentive to become two-time winners in order to get back into the world title picture.
Ultimately, though, it was Uso who shocked the world and was the last man standing on Saturday. Now, he's secured a world title match at WrestleMania 41.

Drew McIntyre Calls Out Reigns; WWE Rumors on Royal Rumble and Jordynne Grace's Push

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
McIntyre Takes Shot at Reigns' On-Screen Character
Drew McIntyre has long been at odds with Roman Reigns, and he stoked the fire of their rivalry once again this week.
During an interview with the Scottish Sun Sport (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), McIntyre discussed Reigns and the fact that he still hasn't apologized for his past misdeeds, saying:
"Roman comes back, takes a vacation, drinks some margaritas, gets some abs, and doesn't apologize. And everybody cheers and goes, 'Oh, he's a man, he's back, he's great, he's our guy again.' Yeah, he's cool, but the reality is he's the same guy who disappeared after WrestleMania."
To McIntyre's point, Reigns dropped the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 before returning at SummerSlam, but he never truly made up for what he put certain people through.
Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn all agreed to fight alongside Reigns in a WarGames match against Solo Sikoa and the new Bloodline despite Reigns refusing to apologize for his past actions.
McIntyre and Seth Rollins have both been outspoken about the idea that Reigns has not bettered himself at all, but despite that, the fans have provided the OTC with hugely positive reactions since his return.
Drew further explained his issues with Reigns, saying: "The problem is, when I want the title, if he's back in power, I can't get the title—specifically the one I was screwed out of at Clash at the Castle. The one Cody has right now. Roman's angling to get it back. It's all part of the bigger picture."
McIntyre went on to call himself a "reluctant hero" who has to stop Reigns and "save everybody as usual."
Both McIntyre and Reigns will be part of a star-studded field in the men's Royal Rumble match on Saturday, and it seems likely that they will come to blows at some point during the bout.
Rumored Royal Rumble Status of NXT Superstars
NXT stars reportedly aren't privy to whether there are plans for them to compete in the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches this weekend.
According to Chris Featherstone on the Backstage Pass Patreon page (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), NXT wrestlers are "currently unaware" of their status for the Rumble.
Over the past several years, NXT stars have regularly been surprise entrants in the Rumble matches, and in many respects, they have replaced the old method of bringing in aging veterans for the surprise spots.
Just last year, the women's Rumble featured Roxanne Perez and Tiffany Stratton from NXT, while Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker were elevated from NXT to take part in the men's Royal Rumble.
There is no shortage of viable options for both Royal Rumbles this year, including Perez, Cora Jade, Giulia, Fallon Henley, Stephanie Vaquer, Zaria, Sol Ruca and Kelani Jordan on the women's side, and Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Ethan Page and Tony D'Angelo for the men.
Most WWE fans are already well aware of the up-and-coming stars in NXT, and for many of them, the Rumble marks their first opportunity to mix it up with the best the main roster has to offer.
The Rumble could either be a cameo or the start of a main roster call-up for the NXT performers who are chosen to be part of it, but regardless of the reasoning, they tend to receive some big reactions from the live crowd.
WWE Reportedly Planning Major Push for Grace
WWE is reportedly planning to push former TNA star Jordynne Grace to a significant degree now that she has joined the company.
According to WrestleVotes on the Backstage Pass Patreon page (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Grace is likely to be "pushed heavily" and WWE is preparing to use her "in a big spot."
Grace made her WWE debut one year ago in the 2024 women's Royal Rumble match. She was the TNA Knockouts world champion at the time, and she was highly impressive after entering the match as a surprise participant.
In the months that followed, Grace made multiple appearances in NXT, including challenging Perez for the NXT Women's Championship at a premium live event.
Last weekend, Grace had her final match in TNA, losing to Tessa Blanchard at the Genesis pay-per-view.
In the wake of Grace's match at Genesis, Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp reported that she officially signed a contract to join WWE.
It seems almost certain that Grace will be a surprise entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match, and if WWE does plan on pushing her as a top star, perhaps it isn't outside the realm of possibility that she could win the Rumble in her first match as a contracted WWE Superstar.
