After earning two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics this summer, U.S. gymnastics pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik is set to take his talents to the dancefloor.

On Thursday's episode of Good Morning America, Nedoroscik was announced as the first contestant for the 33rd season of Dancing with the Stars.

Nedoroscik said on GMA that he plans to bring some of his pommel horse moves to the competition in the ballroom.

"I want to bring some of that gymnastics -- maybe a backflip or handstand. I want to have fun with it," he said.

The 25-year-old's score on the pommel horse propelled Team USA to a third-place finish in the team competition. He also earned the bronze in the individual pommel horse competition, making him the first American men's gymnast to medal in the event at the Olympics in eight years. His performance helped turn him into one of the biggest stars of the Paris Games.

Nedoroscik wears corrective glasses for the eye condition strabismus, which is a misalignment of the eyes that can cause vision problems. He was asked on Thursday if he plans to keep his glasses on for his dance routines.

"I might have fun with it -- I'm scared they'll fly off ... maybe we could do a gadget, keep them on," he said. "Maybe a new pair of glasses, match the theme, right?"

The full season 33 cast of Dancing with the Stars will be revealed on Sept. 4 and the season will premiere on Sept. 17.

Simone Biles Shares Video of Nightclub Celebrations After 2024 Olympics in Paris

Legendary Team USA gymnast Simone Biles posted videos on her Instagram story on Monday showing her celebrating at a nightclub following her success at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Along with the videos, Biles included a caption poking fun at herself: "The reason I'm unwell this morning," and "If you see me out at the club, please tell me to go home for my own sake and health in the a.m."

While Biles may have been regretting her decision to party, she undoubtedly earned the right to let loose after winning four total medals, including three golds, in Paris.

By returning for a third Olympics, Biles cemented her status as one of the greatest of all time. Her 11 career Olympic medals and seven gold medals are tied with Věra Čáslavská for the second most by a woman in Olympic artistic gymnastics history behind only Larisa Latynina, who won 18 total medals and nine golds in the 1950s and 1960s.

Biles was dominant at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, winning five total medals and four golds, including gold in the individual all-around and team events, and she was expected to repeat the feat at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo.

However, Biles experienced a mental block known in gymnastics circles as "the twisties," which forced her to pull out of the all-around and most other events. She still managed to salvage a silver in the team event and a bronze in the balance beam.

Given Biles' struggles in Tokyo and the fact that she was going to be 27 by the time the 2024 Olympics rolled around, it was unclear for quite some time if she was going to give it another go.

Biles ultimately decided to come back for redemption, and it turned out to be a great decision, as she won gold in the individual all-around, team and vault events, along with silver in the floor exercise.

When combining her Olympics success with what she has done at the world championships over the years, Biles now has 41 total medals and 30 gold medals to her credit.

In recognition of her incredible accomplishments in Paris and over the course of her career, Biles was bestowed the honor of carrying the Olympic flag during the closing ceremony.

Biles has nothing left to prove in the sport of gymnastics, but it is fair to wonder if she would consider trying to make one more Olympic team since 2028 will be a home Olympics for American athletes in Los Angeles.

If Biles does try to take part in one final Olympics, she will have a chance to become the first woman in history to win individual all-around gold at the Olympics three times.

USA's Jordan Chiles May Have to Return Olympic Floor Exercise Bronze After CAS Ruling

United States gymnast Jordan Chiles may have to surrender the bronze medal she won in the floor exercise at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris following a decision handed down by the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding an inquiry into her score.

According to Tom Schad of USA Today, CAS ruled Saturday that Chiles was improperly granted an inquiry, as it was not submitted before the passage of a one-minute deadline.

Chiles' floor routine was initially scored a 13.666, which placed her fifth, but her coaches submitted an inquiry, and it was determined that the judges made an error on a deduction.

One-tenth of a point was added to Chiles' score, and a 13.766 bumped her up into third place, earning her the bronze medal.

In the wake of the CAS' decision, USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee released a joint statement Saturday:

The organizations said they were "devastated" by the ruling and condemned "consistent, utterly baseless and extremely hurtful attacks" against Chiles on social media during the appeals process.

Before the inquiry moved Chiles up to third place, that spot was occupied by Romania's Ana Bărbosu, who had a score of 13.700, placing her behind gold medalist Rebeca Andrade of Brazil and silver medalist Simone Biles of the United States.

Chiles was the final gymnast to compete, so once her score was posted, the medalists celebrated, including Bărbosu.

Shortly thereafter, Chiles' new score was posted and she was moved into third. Chiles embraced Biles and her coaches in a moment of jubilation, while Bărbosu was left in a state of shock.

Per Schad, Romania filed a pair of appeals with the CAS immediately after the floor exercise controversy occurred.

The first appeal regarding the legality of Chiles' appeal was accepted, but the second appeal, which related to a deduction against Romanian gymnast Sabrina Maneca-Voinea, was denied.

Maneca-Voinea finished fourth in the floor exercise with a score of 13.700, and she could have been bumped ahead of Bărbosu had the CAS reversed a one-tenth deduction that was levied against her.

Schad noted that the CAS released a statement in which it asserted that Saturday's ruling "applied to Chiles' score but not the final ranking."

The CAS added: "The Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique shall determine the ranking of the final of the women's floor exercise and assign the medal(s) in accordance with the above decision."

That suggests Chiles' fate is now in the hands of the FIG, which is the international governing body for gymnastics.

Even if Chiles is ultimately stripped of her bronze medal, she will still leave Paris as a gold medalist, which she won as part of the team event at the 2024 Summer Games.

Chiles announced this week that she will return to college after the Olympics and compete in gymnastics at UCLA for two more seasons.

Olympic Men's Gymnastics 2024: Horizontal Bar Medal Winners, Scores and Results

The men's horizontal bar competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics literally could not have been any closer.

Japan's Shinnosuke Oka and Colombia's Angel Barajas tied with an overall score of 14.533 during Monday's final, with Oka taking home gold and Barajas grabbing silver due to the execution score tiebreaker. Oka received an execution score of 8.633, besting Barajas' score of 7.933.

There was also a tie in the bronze standings, with China's Zhang Boheng and Tang Chia-Hung of Chinese Taipei each scoring 13.966. Because both men had the same execution score, they were each awarded a bronze medal.

Men's Horizontal Bar Final

Gold: Shinnosuke Oka (Japan): 14.533

Silver: Angel Barajas (Colombia): 14.533

Bronze: Zhang Boheng (China): 13.966

Bronze: Tang Chia-Hung (Chinese Taipei): 13.966

Oka already established himself as one of the rising names in men's gymnastics by winning the all-around and helping lead Japan to a victory in the team competition as well. The 20-year-old took home bronze in the parallel bars earlier Monday as well.

Japan is tied for sixth with Great Britain with 10 gold medals and tied with South Korea for sixth on the overall medal count with 26.

Barajas' earned the first-ever medal in gymnastics for his country. It was also Colombia's first medal period at the 2024 Summer Games.

China remains second in the overall medal count (51) behind the United States (72) after Zhang's bronze. Chinese Taipei now has four total medals (one gold, three bronze) in its trip to Paris.

Zou Jingyuan is once again taking home gold in the parallel bars.

The Chinese gymnast dominated the competition in Monday's final, putting up a score of 16.200 to put him 0.7 points ahead of silver medalist Illia Kovtun of Ukraine.

Gold: Zou Jingyuan (China): 16.200

Silver: Illia Kovtun (Ukraine): 15.500

Bronze: Shinnosuke Oka (Japan): 15.300

Zou, 26, has now taken home three medals at the 2024 Paris Games. He previously won silver in the men's team competition and in the rings event.

China now leads all countries with 21 gold medals and is second behind the United States in overall medals.

Zou, who won gold in the same event three years ago in Tokyo, did not have to sweat much after putting together a jaw-dropping routine that made it impossible for anyone else to come close.

Kovtun scored a critical silver medal for Ukraine, which is now up to seven total medals in Paris.

Shinnosuke Oka, the 20-year-old who won the all-around competition to emerge among the rising stars in the sport, was narrowly behind in third place. Japan's 25 total medals ranks seventh among all countries.

Monday was the final day of artistic gymnastics competition in Paris.

Simone Biles Says She's 'Been Blocked' amid 2024 Olympics Feud with MyKayla Skinner

Simone Biles has been blocked by former Team USA teammate MyKayla Skinner on social media amid an ongoing feud during the 2024 Olympics.

Biles revealed the news on X, and although she did not specify who she had been blocked by, all signs pointed to it being Skinner.

Jordan Chiles, Biles' 2024 Olympic teammate, posted a photo on Instagram confirming that Skinner blocked the superstar gymnast on the platform.

McKayla Maroney, who won team gold for the United States in women's gymnastics at the 2012 Summer Olympics, threw her support behind Biles on Tuesday night after Biles seemingly took a shot at Skinner.

After Biles helped lead the United States to gold in the team all-around at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris on Tuesday, she took to Instagram to post a photo of herself and her teammates celebrating, including the caption: "Lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions."

Biles' post seemed to be in reference to Skinner, who was Biles' 2020 Olympic teammate, taking a shot at the 2024 United States women's gymnastics team.

In a since-deleted video (h/t Becca Longmire of People), Skinner had some less than complimentary things to say about the team that was chosen, saying: "Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn't like what it used to be. Just notice like, I mean, obviously a lot of girls don't work as hard. The girls just don't have the work ethic."

Maroney hilariously tried to distance herself from Skinner's comments, noting in the comments of Biles' Instagram post that she didn't share Skinner's beliefs despite them having a similar first name:

Coincidentally, Maroney won silver in the vault at the 2012 Summer Olympics and Skinner won silver in the vault at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Still, Maroney made it clear that they were on entirely different pages with regard to the 2024 Olympic women's gymnastics squad.

After winning back-to-back Olympic gold medals in the team all-around in 2012 and 2016, the Americans were huge favorites to make it three in a row at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, which were held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Biles experienced a mental block referred to as the "twisties," which resulted in her exiting the event and placed the onus on Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles and Grace McCallum to lead Team USA.

The Americans still managed a silver medal in the team event, but it was a disappointing result nonetheless.

Biles was able to return and win bronze on the balance beam, while Lee won individual all-around gold and Jade Carey won gold in the floor exercise.

Biles, Lee, Chiles and Carey all returned to represent Team USA again at the 2024 Summer Games, while 16-year-old Hezly Rivera was the only new addition to the roster.

The United States made up for the disappointment of three years ago by winning team gold in dominant fashion in Paris, and the team proved plenty of naysayers wrong in the process, including Skinner.

By virtue of their victory, the 2024 team entered the conversation for greatest United States women's gymnastics team of all time along with the 2012 and 2016 squads, and Maroney seems to respect their place in that discussion.

After winning the bronze medal in the team event at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics, China qualified in the top spot in the team competition Saturday, about 2.5 points ahead of Japan in second.

Also, China's Boheng Zhang topped individual all-around qualifying, followed by Japan's Shinnosuke Oka and Daiki Hashimoto in second and third, and China's Ruoteng Xiao in fourth.

Team USA mostly struggled, qualifying only fifth in the team event, 10th and 13th in the individual all-around and second in the pommel horse.

In addition to qualifying for the team final and having two all-around finalists, China had seven finalists in the other six events. Japan had five and Great Britain had six.

Two Olympic debutants in Zhang and Oka enter the finals as the top two performers in the all-around, but they are followed by a pair of veterans.

Hashimoto won gold in the all-around at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo, while Xiao took the silver, which suggests both are threats to challenge for the top two spots once again.

The most surprising results of the day occurred on the horizontal bar, as Hashimoto failed to qualify for the apparatus finals despite winning 2020 Olympic and 2023 world championship gold in the event.

Hashimoto experienced a fall, which caused him to finish behind Japanese teammates Takaaki Sugino, Oka and Kazuma Kaya. Since a maximum of only two gymnasts from a single country can compete in any apparatus final, it left Hashimoto on the outside looking in with a score of 13.733.

Nearly as surprising was the fact that American Brody Malone also crashed out in high bar qualifying.

Malone won gold in the horizontal bar at the 2022 world championships, but he also fell Saturday, making him one of the worst performers in the event with a score of 12.233.

After missing the 2023 U.S. national championships and world championships due to a torn ACL, Malone returned to action this year, winning his third career all-around U.S. national title.

Malone also finished second in the all-around at the U.S. Olympic Trials, but he did not qualify for the Olympic all-around final, as American teammates Fred Richard and Paul Juda finished ahead of him.

Overall, it was an awful day for an American team that entered the 2024 Olympics with high medal hopes.

At the 2023 world championships, Team USA won bronze in the team event and Richard won bronze in the all-around. The Americans also won medals in the pommel horse and vault.

However, Team USA qualified only fifth in the team event Saturday behind Great Britain in third and Ukraine in fourth, and their top all-around qualifiers were 10th and 13th.

The United States also had only one gymnast reach an apparatus final, that being Stephen Nedoroscik, who qualified second in the pommel horse.

The first final of the men's gymnastics competition at the 2024 Olympics will take place Monday in the form of the team all-around.

Fresh off winning three gold medals at the 2023 United States Gymnastics Championships, Simone Biles is going to compete for the World Championships.

Biles was named to the U.S. squad for 2023 World Championships in Belgium. This will mark her sixth career appearance at the event, the most ever for a United States athlete.

The 26-year-old earned her spot on Team USA at the Women's World Championships Selection Event on Wednesday. Her score of 55.700 in the all-around beat out Shilese Jones (55.300) and Skye Blakely (55.000) for the top position.

"Yesterday was a rough day, but it's better now [than to] get it out over there [at worlds]," Biles said after falling on the uneven bars and stepping out of bounds during her floor exercise on Tuesday. "Today's two-event was obviously a lot better getting the nerves out. I feel like everybody was nervous yesterday, not just me and I don't know why."

Biles returned to competition in August at the 2023 U.S. Classic. It was her first event since the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, when she withdrew from the individual all-around, vault, uneven bars and floor finals to focus on her mental health. She did compete in the balance beam, finishing third to capture the bronze medal.

After finishing first in three of her four events at the United States Classic, Biles competed in four events at Nationals from Aug. 24 to 27. She won the individual all-around, balance beam, floor exercise and won bronze on the uneven bars.

Biles has won 25 medals in her career at the World Championships, including 19 golds.

Joining Biles on the U.S. team at this year's event will be Jones, Blakeley, Leanne Wong and Joscelyn Roberson. The 2023 World Championships will take place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 8 in Antwerp, Belgium.

China earned both gold and silver in the men's gymnastics rings final of the Tokyo Olympics, but it was Liu Yang who edged teammate You Hao for the top spot on the podium.

Liu had a score of 15.500 Monday at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre in Japan, just two tenths of a point ahead of You for the victory.

Eleftherios Petrounias of Greece won gold at the 2016 Olympics but had to settle for the bronze medal in Tokyo.

Final Results

1. Liu Yang (China): 15.500

2. You Hao (China): 15.300

3. Eleftherios Petrounias (Greece): 15.200

4. Samir Ait Said (France): 14.900

5. Ibrahim Colak (Turkey): 14.866

6. Denis Ablyazin (ROC): 14.833

7. Adem Asil (Turkey): 14.600

8. Arthur Zanetti (Brazil): 14.133

Full scores available at Olympics.com.

It was a close battle between the top three, but Liu separated himself with a 9.000 execution score that was the best in the field.

Liu earned the first gold for China in gymnastics so far in Tokyo, adding to a men's team that won bronze in the team competition. Xiao Ruoteng also added a pair of individual medals in the all-around and floor exercise.

With neither Liu nor You competing for China in the team event, the country showcased its depth in the sport.

You's silver medal was an impressive achievement after finishing eighth in qualification and earning the last spot in the final. He had the highest degree of difficulty in his final routine, but his 8.700 execution score put him just short of gold.

Petrounias entered as the favorite as the reigning gold medalist in rings, plus three world championships in the event, but he wasn't able to replicate his past success. His 15.200 score was also lower than his 15.333 qualifying score, forcing him to settle for the bronze.

The final medals in men's gymnastics will be handed out Tuesday with the finals of the parallel bars and horizontal bars.
