Terrell Owens is more than a decade removed from his NFL career, but the former wide receiver believes he's still good for a few snaps.

Per USA Today's Josh Peter, Owens said that while he couldn't go for a full game, he could come in for an NFL playoff team and be a "viable option."

"It's all about the condition that you put yourself in,'' Owens said. "I've been able to take care of my body.

"If you think about the playoffs, a lot of these games are won by third downs and obviously red-zone situations. Could I go out and play 70 snaps right now? Absolutely not. But I'd be a viable option if I were on the team, that's for sure.''

While Owens retired in 2010, he was productive even in his final season. While playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in his last campaign, Owens recorded 983 yards and nine touchdowns on the season.

His NFL career might have ended years ago, but Owens has been active in other leagues in recent years. In 2022, Owens played in Fan Controlled Football, a flag football league. It was even reported that he had communications with the Dallas Cowboys about a potential return in 2022, though he ultimately wouldn't make his return to the field.

Perhaps if a team is looking for a spark next season, they'll give Owens a call.

Terrell Owens Calls Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Jason Garrett 'Snakes' from Cowboys Run

Terrell Owens hasn't played in the NFL since 2010, but he still has an ax to grind against former teammates and coaches.

In response to a clip on The Pivot podcast from former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant saying he thought Tony Romo and Jason Garrett were actively trying to prevent him from getting the ball during a 2014 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, someone tagged Owens asking about previous comments he made.

Owens replied on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Romo, Garrett and Jason Witten are all "snakes."

It's unclear why Bryant assumed the Cowboys were trying to sabotage him. He had 86 targets, 50 receptions, 635 yards and six touchdowns in nine games leading up to the matchup with Jacksonville.

In the game against the Jaguars, Bryant had a team-high eight targets, 158 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the season with 1,320 yards and an NFL-high 16 touchdown receptions.

The Cowboys signed Bryant to a five-year, $70 million deal in July 2015.

Owens never met a quarterback he played with who he wasn't ready to throw under a bus. He was friends with Donovan McNabb until they were teammates on the Philadelphia Eagles, and the feud has continued ever since.

Romo seemed to be one of the few quarterbacks Owens actually liked. He tearfully defended the Cowboys signal-caller after a playoff loss to the New York Giants in January 2008.

Eleven months later, ESPN's Ed Werder reported about an "emerging internal conflict" with the Cowboys involving Owens, Romo and Witten because the star receiver was "apparently jealous" of the relationship between the quarterback and tight end.

The 2008 season was Owens' last one with the Cowboys. He had a productive year with 1,052 yards and 10 touchdowns, but Dallas missed the playoffs with a 9-7 record and he was released by the team during the offseason.

Owens said afterward that he was "blindsided" by the move because Cowboys owner Jerry Jones assured him he would remain with the team.

Randy Moss is undeniably one of the best wide receivers of all time, but who does he view as being in the same elite category?

Joining Kevin Hart on LOL Network's Cold As Balls, Moss was asked who he would include in his wide receiver Mount Rushmore.

While he admitted it was a "tough" question, he didn't hesitate in his response, listing himself, Terrell Owens, Jerry Rice and Calvin Johnson (12:40 mark) as the greatest wide receivers of all time.

Moss spent much of his career with the Minnesota Vikings, which selected him in the first round of the 1998 draft. He also played for the then-Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers.

The 46-year-old ranks second in Vikings history with 587 receptions, 9,316 yards and 92 touchdowns. He also ranks second in NFL history with 156 receiving touchdowns and third with 15,292 receiving yards.

Additionally, he earned Six Pro Bowl selections, four All-Pros, the 1998 Offensive Rookie of the Year award and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018. He retired from the NFL after the 2012 season.

Owens, who was also inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018, was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1996 draft. He spent eight years with the franchise and also suited up for the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.

The 50-year-old ranks second in 49ers history in receptions (592), yards (8,572), and touchdowns (81). He also ranks second in NFL history with 15,934 receiving yards and he's tied for the third-most receiving touchdowns in league history with 153.

Owens was a six-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro. He retired after the 2010 season.

Rice is widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver in Niners history. He spent 16 seasons with the franchise and also played for the Raiders and Seattle Seahawks before hanging up the cleats after the 2004 season.

The 61-year-old holds almost every major career receiving record in NFL history. He ranks first in league history in most touchdowns (208), most pass receptions (1,549), most receiving touchdowns (197) and most receiving yards (22,895).

Additionally, Rice is a three-time Super Bowl champion, 13-time Pro Bowler, 10-time All-Pro and two-time Offensive Player of the Year, among other accolades. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010.

Johnson spent his entire nine-year career with the Detroit Lions. He holds the record for most receiving yards in a season (1,964), among other accolades, and holds Detroit's franchise records for career receptions (731), receiving yards (11,619), receiving touchdowns (83) and receiving yards per game (86.1).

The 38-year-old retired after the 2015 season. He was a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame 2021.

Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens was unharmed after being hit by a car Monday following an argument with another person after playing in a basketball game in Calabasas, California.

In a video on Instagram, Owens posted what appeared to be highlights from the game and included the caption: "... I DO HAVE A RIGHT TO PROTECT MYSELF. *hope the car is ok!!!"

The Los Angeles County Sherriff's Department said the incident stemmed from an altercation on the basketball court.

In a statement to TMZ Sports, Owens said everything is fine. He didn't need medical assistance as a result of the situation.

TMZ originally reported the man drove his vehicle into Owens' knee and law enforcement officials took a report for assault with a deadly weapon. No arrests have been made thus far, but police are still investigating the situation.

Owens most recently played in the Fan Controlled Football league during the 2022 season. He was on the Zappers team that also featured former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel.

The FCF's third season that was set to be played in 2023 was canceled with the hope of licensing its technology and selling its franchises to set up a relaunch at some point in the future.

Owens' agent, Gregory D.L. Daniel, told Aaron Wilson of SI.com last December that he contacted Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and other teams with the hope of securing a workout for his client with the hopes of making an NFL comeback.

The 49-year-old Owens played 15 seasons in the NFL from 1996 to 2010. He was named to the All-Pro team five times and Pro Bowl six times. He ranks third all-time in receiving yards (15,934) and receiving touchdowns (153).

A man reportedly struck Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens in the knee with his car after getting into an argument with the 49-year-old during a pickup basketball game in the Calabasas, California, area on Monday evening, per TMZ Sports. Owens did not require medical attention, per police.

TMZ Sports relayed that officers fielded a report for assault with a deadly weapon. Police have opened an investigation. No arrests have occurred as of yet.

This isn't the first time Owens has been involved in a public confrontation.

Last year, Owens punched a man who allegedly heckled him and harassed a San Francisco 49ers fan who was speaking with T.O. at a Los Angeles-area CVS, per TMZ Sports.

In 2022, Owens also had a heated argument with a neighbor who was later hit with a second-degree misdemeanor charge of false reports. The woman told police that Owens almost hit her while driving and that he threatened her. Owens denied those allegations.

Owens, a six-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro, played in the NFL from 1996 to 2010 with the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. His 15,934 receiving yards and 153 receiving touchdowns both rank third all time.

T.O. was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Terrell Owens Discusses Stephen A. Smith Feud: 'You're Not Gonna Disrespect Me'

The feud between Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens and ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith added another chapter Thursday after T.O. went on "All the Smoke" with ex-NBA players Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes to discuss the situation further.

Of note, Owens said this beginning at the 20:35 mark:

"You're not going to sit up here and try to bash me and attack my character in front of millions and sit on ESPN with your compadres or what have you and act like you bad and you this and that and the other. That's not going to fly with me, but like I told him, keep that same energy, and I'm not condoning nobody, but you're not gonna disrespect me, you know what I mean? Because when it comes to the player, that has nothing to do with that. That has nothing to do with this man, you know what I mean? It's me. For me, like I said, it's personal. So at this point in time, that's how I am, that's where I am with it."

The two have lobbed accusations at each other over social media in recent weeks.

For starters, an old video featuring a confrontation between Smith and Owens in which ex-Smith First Take partner Max Kellerman got caught in the middle resurfaced. Owens responded to that video with "FACTS," and Smith gave his take on the matter:

Smith also notably claimed that Owens tried to sue him over off-the-record comments the football player said were made public.

Owens had this to say in response to Smith's remarks.

All in all, this is an ugly feud which also seemingly came out of left field to enter the national media landscape. It doesn't appear the bitter feelings between the two will end any time soon.

Terrell Owens: I Experienced Issues Related to Systemic Racism During 49ers Tenure

Oct 5, 2023

Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens recently alleged that he dealt with systemic racism during his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers.

On Thursday's episode of All The Smoke, Owens specifically talked about his relationship with then-Niners head coach Steve Mariucci, who he played under from 1997-2002.

"Even when I went through, got drafted by the Niners, dealing with Coach Mariucci. There was some things. There was some tension there," Owens said when discussing his upbringing. "I didn't really think about it too much. I felt it. I saw it. But I never said anything. We talk about systemic racism. It was there, but I didn't let it deter me or distract from what I had to do on the football field."

This isn't the first time Owens has talked about his relationship with Mariucci. In a June 2020 interview with TMZ Sports, he said he experienced systemic racism under Mariucci, though he didn't go into specifics.

"I experienced it when I was in San Francisco under Coach Mariucci," Owens said. "I experienced it. Trust me, I experienced it."

Owens added: "I just want to be clear, my racism experiences were more with Mariucci and not under the current ownership with the 49ers. Jed York and I along with the current organization has been very gracious and on good terms."

The Niners selected Owens in the third round of the 1996 NFL draft. He spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Niners before stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.

The 49-year-old ranks third in NFL history in receiving yards (15,934) and receiving touchdowns (153). He earned six Pro Bowl selections and five All-Pro honors during his 15-year career.

Since retiring from the NFL after the 2010 season, Owens briefly played in the American Flag Football League, worked out for CFL teams and also had a stint in Fan Controlled Football.

Travis Hunter Praised by Terrell Owens; Colorado WR's Skills Are 'Off the Charts'

Hall of Famer Terrell Owens has been seen supporting Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes in recent weeks, but his connection to the team goes deeper than that.

During an appearance on the All The Smoke podcast, Owens said around the 44:25 mark that he's been working with some of Colorado's receivers after Sanders requested that he lend his knowledge to the youngsters. He went on to express high praise for Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter, who has excelled both as a cornerback and a receiver.

"Ball skills is crazy, it's crazy. It's freakish, is how I can explain it," Owens said. "There are some things probably at the next level that he's gonna have to fine-tune. But when you think about what he's doing as a high schooler, now his second year [in college], and you see the highlights of what he was doing, bro, it's crazy. It's off the charts."

Sanders said earlier this week that Hunter is likely to miss at least the next two games while he continues his recovery from a lacerated liver. The sophomore suffered the injury during Colorado's dramatic overtime win against Colorado State nearly three weeks ago.

Prior to being sidelined, Hunter racked up 16 receptions for 233 yards on offense while adding nine tackles, two passes defended and an interception on defense. His exciting style of play helped Colorado gain immense popularity across the country amid the team's 3-0 start to the year.

The Buffaloes (3-2) have dropped their last two games without Hunter in the lineup. They will look to end the skid when they return to action on Saturday against Arizona State (1-4).

Terrell Owens: Stephen A. Smith Used His Platform to 'Tarnish' and 'Attack' My Name

The feud between Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens and ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith got a little deeper on Saturday.

During an appearance on All The Smoke, Owens took the time to address the situation, accusing Smith of trying to attack his character:

He's used his platform to really kind of tarnish and attack my character and who I am as a person. So regardless of however he started his monologue and his thing with his podcast trying to build me up to break me down, we all see through that. And all the people he's talking about that has reached out... who gives a s--t? I've had people that have reached out to me, players as well, and some of the people he thinks are cool with him, they're not cool with him.

During Monday's episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith said that his feud with Owens stems from the fact that the former wideout attempted to sue him at one point in time. It was widely believed that the two had beef stemming from an exchange with former First Take co-host Max Kellerman.

"We stopped talking because after you saw that hit from Max Kellerman, Terrell Owens tried to sue me," Smith said. "He had lawyers contact ESPN, who obviously contacted me, to try and sue me. Needless to say, it was laughable. It never went anywhere. He wasn't getting a damn dime which he was hoping to get. That's why I was pissed off Saturday, because we haven't spoken since then because he tried to sue me."

Owens allegedly accused Smith of making an off-the-record conversation public, Smith said on his podcast. Off-the-record conversations are meant to be kept private and not shared publicly.

Smith denied it, saying he has "never done that in my career," but Owens was quick to respond via X, formerly known as Twitter:

Owens' ongoing feud with Smith began when the ESPN personality commented on a post that included a video of the wide receiver's appearance on First Take from years ago.

With the two continuing to take shots at one another, it doesn't appear that this feud will end any time soon.

Amid his ongoing back-and-forth with former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith dedicated a whole episode of his podcast to addressing the Pro Football Hall of Famer.

During Monday's episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith revealed that his beef with Owens doesn't stem from an exchange involving Max Kellerman, but rather from the fact that Owens tried to sue him at one point.

"We stopped talking because after you saw that hit from Max Kellerman, Terrell Owens tried to sue me," Smith said around the 16:57 mark.

Smith further explained that Owens accused him of publicizing an off-the-record conversation, which is unethical in any form of journalism. Smith vehemently denied the notion.

"He tried to sit up there and say I did something I've never done in my career, and that is take an off-the-record conversation and publicize it," he said. "I have never done that in my career. On the soul of everything I love, I don't do that."

Owens later responded to Smith's video:

Smith and Owens became entangled over the weekend with a series of exchanges over social media. A video of Smith discussing his working relationship with Kellerman prompted a post that included a video of Owens' appearance on ESPN's First Take from years ago. When Owens retweeted the post, Smith took aim at him.

Smith maintained during his podcast that he hadn't had contact with Owens in quite some time.

"The point is, he tried to sue me," he said. "And from that point forward, I said I could never talk to him, because who knows what he's gonna try to turn into a lawsuit? And I have stayed away from him from that day forward."
