It's been five years since Andrew Flintoff bid farewell to top-class cricket, but there are murmurings the England legend we know as Freddie could be set to get out there again.

According to Paul Newman of the Daily Mail, Lancashire are trying everything they can to get 36-year-old Flintoff to play in the Twenty20 Blast this summer.

Newman reports Flintoff worked as a coach for Lancashire's academy in the winter. His competitive streak still alive, the all-rounder couldn't resist providing a demonstration.

Inevitably, Flintoff was tempted into turning his arm over again during the coaching sessions and quickly astonished both himself and all those who saw him by bowling quickly and, crucially, without pain in his chronic knee.

Now he is said to be bowling well into 80mph-plus, not far off his prime.

Is a comeback really on the cards? As per the Guardian, Flintoff has been in contact with his former club side St. Annes to ask about playing Twenty20 this season, so he's clearly interested in playing again.

It's not clear where Flintoff stands on Lancashire's reported interest, but Newman makes arguments for and against a comeback.

Lancashire themselves are downplaying things, but that won't stop people getting excited.

So what do you think? Should Flintoff make a comeback? Or would he risk diluting his legacy?
