The NRl or National Rugby League is the main professional competition in Australia and New Zealand for Rugby League. In this article, I will tell of the teams involved.
Sydney Roosters: Are a foundation club that was established in 1908. They are located in the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney and their Home ground is the Sydney Football Stadium.
Brisbane Broncos: Were established in 1988 as the first Queensland club. They are based in Brisbane. They play out of Suncorp Stadium in the heart of Brisbane.
Canturbury Bulldogs: This club was established in 1935. There clubs base is at Belmore with most of there support coming from Bankstown, Auburn, Belmore and Canturbury areas. There home stadium is ANZ Stadium located at Homebush.
South Sydney Rabbitohs: Another foundation club established in 1908, they all also based at ANZ Stadium. They were kicked out of the comp in 1999 but after public protests and immense support they were introduced in 2002.
Canberra Raiders: Are based in Canberra the capital of Australia and play there footy out of Canberra Stadium. The club was established in 1982. They are well known for producing great players in the form of Ricky Stuart, Mal Meninga, Laurie Daley and others.
Cronulla Sharks: They are based on the South Coast of Sydney. They were formed in 1967 and play out of Toyota Stadium. They have a very intense rivalry with the Dragons.
Gold Coast Titans: The newest addition to the NRL. Based on the fast growing South East Coast of Queensland. Were established in 2007. They play out of Skilled Park.
Manly Sea Eagles: Based on the northern beaches area. Are considered to be the most hated team in the NRL. Perceived as the silver spooners. Thye entered the competition in 1947 and play at the ageing Brookvale oval.
