It's safe to say Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was impressed with Indianapolis Colts rookie Anthony Richardson on Sunday.

Stafford's Rams were able to pull off a 29-23 overtime victory over the Colts during Week 4, but following the game, Stafford expressed awe over Richardson's talent.

"Holy s--t," Stafford said, per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. "He's as talented as they come, man. That is really impressive. Made some throws in the pocket and outside the pocket. Runs great too. The sky's the limit, and I'm just happy for his success."

The Rams went up 23-0 in the game but Richardson helped orchestrate a comeback that pushed the game to overtime. He was 11-of-25 on the day for 200 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing the ball 10 times for 56 yards and a touchdown.

That output came in Richardson's return to the lineup after he missed Week 3 with a concussion. He is now up to 479 yards with three touchdowns and an interception through the air and 131 yards and four touchdowns on the ground as a rookie.

Maintaining health will be key for Richardson going forward, but his early success shows that the Colts could be a factor in the AFC South as early as this season. The entire division is currently 2-2.

Indianapolis will have a chance to move above .500 in Week 5 as they will host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. ET.

Matthew Stafford Says He'll Play for Rams vs. Eagles in Week 5 Despite Hip Injury

Matthew Stafford will be on the field when the Los Angeles Rams take on the reigning NFC champions.

"Oh, you don't have to worry about that," the quarterback told reporters when asked if he will play in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles despite a hip injury. "I'll be out there."

He also said, "it was going to have to shut all the way down to not keep playing," when discussing playing through the injury in Sunday's 29-23 overtime win.

Keeping Stafford on the field will be key for the Rams if they are going to surpass expectations and compete for a playoff spot this season.

He appeared in just nine games last year and dealt with a neck injury, and there was no need to rush him back as Los Angeles played out the string on a 5-12 campaign. Things have gone better to this point this year with the Rams off to a 2-2 start.

Stafford went 27-of-40 for 319 yards, one touchdown and one interception, and the one score came just in time. He found Puka Nacua for a touchdown in overtime to win the game after the Rams blew a 23-0 lead in the second half.

Indianapolis came charging back with two touchdown passes and a touchdown run from Anthony Richardson in the second half, but Stafford came through in the most important moment in the extra period.

Fortunately for Los Angeles, Stafford will have an opportunity to build on his late touchdown pass with a high-profile showdown against the Eagles.

The Rams have already surpassed expectations with wins over the Colts and Seattle Seahawks and narrow losses to presumed contenders in the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals. Yet going toe-to-toe with the Eagles would be the most impressive showing of the early season.

Stafford will be under center when Los Angeles attempts to do just that.

Matthew Stafford, Rams' Offense Slammed by Fans in Loss vs. Joe Burrow, Bengals

The Los Angeles Rams will always have their Super Bowl LVI victory, but bragging rights went to the Cincinnati Bengals this time around.

Cincinnati defeated Los Angeles 19-16 in Monday's inter-conference showdown at Paycor Stadium. It was a defensive slugfest that didn't see a single touchdown until the second half, but the home team did enough to get its first win of the season.

The Rams fell to 1-2, and Matthew Stafford will likely want to forget his latest showing.

He went 18-of-33 for 269 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions and was sacked six times behind an offensive line that struggled for stretches. While much of the pressure wasn't the quarterback's fault, his turnovers and overall performance left much to be desired.

It also led to some criticism from social media:

It would be an understatement to call Monday's performance frustrating from the Rams' perspective. There was a tipped pass that fell into Logan Wilson's hands for the linebacker's second interception. Additionally, there were promising drives that stalled into field goals, and Stafford didn't have enough time for many downfield routes to develop.

Trey Hendrickson was a terror for the Rams' offensive line, and Dax Hill rocked the veteran signal-caller with a particularly hard hit on another sack.

Even second-year running back Kyren Williams, who scored four total touchdowns in the first two games of the season, was quiet with 38 yards on the ground. By the start of the fourth quarter, the Rams essentially had to go away from the rushing attack in comeback mode.

That made it even harder to block the pass-rush, helping continue Stafford's tough day. He will look to turn things around in Los Angeles' next contest against the Indianapolis Colts on the road.

Los Angeles Rams star Matthew Stafford is open to appearing on the Netflix series Quarterback if it gets a second season.

Stafford told reporters on Wednesday he's had "discussions" about being on the show but didn't provide a definitive answer one way or the other.

"I'm not sure there is going to be a season," he said. "I'm not sure there isn't. I'm not sure. I'm just more focused on the San Francisco 49ers to be honest with you than anything going on off the field so I'll just leave it at that, I guess."

When asked if he would be on board if the show does come back, Stafford only said "possibly."

Kelly Stafford, Matthew's wife, said on an episode of her podcast in July her husband was approached to appear on the first season but turned it down because he didn't want to create a distraction for his teammates and was dealing with an injury.

Kelly went on to say she thinks Matthew will "reconsider" for a possible season two with him nearing the end of his career.

Stafford is one of the few players who has gone on the record as at least being open to appearing on the documentary series. Trevor Lawrence, Dak Prescott, Jimmy Garoppolo, Justin Fields and Jalen Hurts are among the quarterbacks who have said they don't have interest in it.

The first season of the show featured Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota. Peyton Manning, who is an executive producer on the series through his Omaha Productions company, told Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post they had to get permission from Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid to land Mahomes.

"There's a trust factor. I promised all these guys that anything they didn't want in it wasn't gonna be in it," Manning said. "These guys had to be comfortable with everything. At the same time, we felt like we wanted to tell the story of what it's like to be a quarterback and all that goes with it."

Manning has said there is going to be a second season, though no official announcement has been made by Netflix so far.

The eight-episode first season of Quarterback premiered on July 12. It followed Mahomes, Cousins and Mariota throughout the 2022 NFL season.

Stafford is in his third season with the Rams and 15th NFL season overall. The 35-year-old led Los Angeles to a victory in Super Bowl 56 in his first season with the team. He was limited to nine games in 2022 due to concussions and a spinal cord injury.

The Rams opened this season with a 30-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Stafford went 24-of-38 for 334 yards in the win.

NFL Rumors: Jets Called Rams About Matthew Stafford Before Aaron Rodgers Trade

The Los Angeles Rams won a Super Bowl the first season after trading for Matthew Stafford.

The New York Jets reportedly at least explored going down a similar path in 2023.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets called Los Angeles to inquire about a potential trade for the veteran signal-caller this offseason when there was a "lack of clarity" regarding the chances of landing Aaron Rodgers and "whether he would even play in 2023."

Yet the Rams remained "adamant" they wouldn't trade Stafford, so the talks were nothing more than "exploratory."

Rapoport explained Los Angeles planned on keeping Stafford once it was clear head coach Sean McVay would return even though the Jets and other teams reached out.

Those other teams were surely curious if the NFC West club would go into sell mode this year after an injury-marred 5-12 campaign in 2022. The Rams did trade Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins, but the quarterback remains as they attempt to surprise in a difficult NFC West division.

Stafford played just nine games last season because of injuries, but he isn't far removed from his Super Bowl-winning efforts in 2021 when he completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 4,886 yards, 41 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

That Lombardi Trophy instantly justified the Rams' decision to trade Jared Goff, two first-round draft picks and a third-round draft pick to the Detroit Lions for Stafford.

New York's interest among the Rodgers uncertainty isn't a surprise.

After all, this is a team that was a quarterback away from contending in 2022. It had the Offensive Rookie of the Year in Garrett Wilson, the Defensive Rookie of the Year in Sauce Gardner and a strong overall roster but received inconsistent play under center from Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco and Mike White.

The result was a 7-10 record and last-place finish in the AFC East.

Fortunately for the Jets and their fans, they were able to land Rodgers. Optimism is now as high as it has been in years for the franchise with a future Hall of Famer under center. Anything short of a deep playoff run would likely be seen as a disappointment.

As for Stafford, he is still on the Rams and hoping to rediscover the 2021 form that helped lead the team to the NFL mountaintop.
