Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles had the ultimate trolling words for Tom Brady following the Eagles' 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

After leading the Eagles to their first franchise Super Bowl victory in 2018 over Brady and the New England Patriots with a 41-33 win, Foles took the opportunity to poke fun at his luck in being a part of Eagles history.

Brady, broadcasting alongside Kevin Burkhardt for Fox on Sunday, returned to the Super Bowl to witness an Eagles victory, but this time from the booth instead of on the field.

In the Eagles Super Bowl 52 victory over Brady, Foles finished with 373 yards and three touchdowns to lift the Eagles to its win.

Despite the shade, Brady has made 10 Super Bowl appearances, winning a monumental seven, including one 24-21 victory over the Eagles in 2005.

With Foles in the building to witness the Eagles' second Super Bowl win, Burkhardt seized the moment to poke fun at Brady.

"Nick Foles in the building," Burkhardt said on the broadcast. "Super Bowl MVP who led the Eagles to that win. Who did he play in that game? Do you know who he played?"

Brady responded with good humor, while also pointing out the difference in their trick play catches. "Nick, I don't hate you. I'm just jealous of you. You caught it, I didn't."

The playful jabs continued throughout the night, with both stars appearing in a Super Bowl commercial together this year.

The advertisement was for a Boston-based sportswear company called Nobull, featuring Brady on a video call with Foles' nephew. The boy mentions how his "uncle gave them a special play in the fourth quarter" to win the title game, before the camera panned to Foles.

By the end of the night, the Foles and Brady banter had certainly become one of the more memorable moments of Super Bowl week.

Tom Brady 'Jealous' of Foles, Eagles' Super Bowl 52 Win, Makes Philly Special Joke

The Philadelphia Eagles had Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles in the house during Sunday's blowout win over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.

And when cameras panned to Foles, Fox Sports announcer Tom Brady—who was bested by the Birds in Super Bowl LII—had a bit of fun with the situation.

"Nick, I don't hate you," Brady said while laughing. "I'm just jealous of you. You caught it! I didn't."

Brady was referencing two key plays from that matchup—the famous Philly Special trick play, with Foles catching a touchdown pass on a fourth-down conversion, and Brady dropping his own potential reception on a New England gadget play.

It was a bit of levity from the famously competitive Brady and a fun memory for Eagles fans who were already celebrating another trip to the Super Bowl.

Video: Bill Belichick Jokes About Having Dartboards with Eli Manning, Nick Foles

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a six-time Super Bowl champion, but he hasn't gotten over his three Super Bowl losses.

During his weekly on the ManningCast for this week's Monday Night Football game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons, Belichick joked that he has three dartboards in his house, two of former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and one of former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles:

Manning and the Giants defeated Belichick and the Patriots in the Super Bowl in the 2008 and 2012 seasons, while Foles and the Eagles topped them in 2017.

In all three instances, the Patriots entered the Big Game as the favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, which probably makes those losses sting a bit more for Belichick.

Despite conjuring up bad memories, Belichick took the moment in stride and even uttered, "Fly Eagles fly," in support of Philadelphia.

Nick Foles: Playing for Eagles Was 'Only Time I Felt at Home' During NFL Career

Nick Foles left his mark on several NFL teams throughout his career, but one team stood out to him more than any other.

The quarterback spoke highly of his time with the Philadelphia Eagles, saying it was the only place he felt "at home."

"That locker room in Philadelphia, you could play for so long because of the brotherhood and everything about that city and that team," Foles said on Green Light with Chris Long. "Even when I look back at my career, I'm so grateful for the other teams I played for besides Philadelphia because they gave me an opportunity to play, they gave me an opportunity to be a part of their organization and their city, but when I look back at my career, the only time I felt at home was Philadelphia."

The Eagles drafted Foles in the third round out of Arizona in 2012, and he played the first three seasons of his career in Philadelphia. After stints with the St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs, he re-joined the Eagles in 2017 to play backup to Carson Wentz.

Wentz suffered a torn ACL in Week 14 and Foles came into to finish the rest of the season under center. He established himself as an Eagles legend in the 2017 Super Bowl against the New England Patriots when he threw for 373 passing yards and three touchdowns, also catching a touchdown pass when Philadelphia ran the "Philly Special."

After Foles' time with the Eagles, he went on to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts, but his time in Philadelphia will always be the most memorable.

Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles announced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday.

The Philadelphia Eagles, who secured their only Super Bowl win in team history with Foles leading the way, announced that Foles will retire as an Eagle and be present for the team's 2024 home opener on Sept. 16.

The 35-year-old spent the 2022 season with the Indianapolis Colts. He was the third starting quarterback to be utilized by the team when he got the nod for a Week 16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He remained in the role the following week, which resulted in a loss to the New York Giants.

Altogether, Foles threw for 224 yards and four interceptions in three appearances with Indianapolis.

The Colts announced in May 2023 that they were releasing the 2013 Pro Bowler, who told the Philadelphia Inquirer's Kerith Gabriel his future in the NFL remained murky.

"Shoot, almost every year of my career I've almost retired," he said. "Every offseason, I think, 'Do I still want to play? Do I still want to keep going?'"

After going unsigned during the 2023 season and the ensuing offseason, Foles decided to call it quits. He's walking away with 14,227 yards, 82 touchdowns and 47 interceptions in 71 career appearances across 11 seasons.

His best single year came in 2013 with the Philadelphia Eagles, when he thrived in Chip Kelly's offensive scheme. He led the NFL in passer rating (119.2) and finished with 27 touchdowns to two interceptions en route to earning a Pro Bowl nod.

Foles' role in Philly's Super Bowl title will be what fans remember the most, though. During the 2017 postseason, he threw for 971 yards, six touchdowns and one interception, and he had the fifth-most passing yards (373) in Super Bowl history, as the Eagles upset the New England Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII:

That run cemented Foles' place in Philadelphia sports lore forever, and his Super Bowl MVP puts him in the same company as some of the NFL's greatest legends.

Bears Rumors: QB Room Was 'F--king Toxic as Hell' with Justin Fields, Nick Foles

Justin Fields didn't enjoy his time with Nick Foles and Andy Dalton during the 2021 season.

According to NFL writer Ty Dunne (h/t Beth Mishler-Elmore of Heavy), both veterans were willing to mentor Fields that year but the then-rookie quarterback reportedly wasn't interested, creating a quarterback room that was "f--king toxic as hell."

"There were several arguments amongst the QBs," Dunne wrote. "Once, per one source, Foles was trying to teach something to Fields in the QB room and—upon turning toward the rookie—Foles realized Fields wasn't even paying attention. His head was down. At that point, Foles was done trying to play mentor. The two could not stand each other."

It got bad enough, a source told Dunne, that the trio ultimately "never were together. It was always Andy and Nick walking side by side and Justin always 15 yards behind them."

To be fair to all involved, it was an odd situation. Ahead of the 2021 season, the team let Mitchell Trubisky walk in free agency and signed Dalton to a one-year, $10 million contract. The belief was that Dalton would likely be either a bridge quarterback or a backup mentor for an incoming rookie at the position.

But Foles was already on the roster after the team traded for him the prior offseason. The former Super Bowl MVP had struggled when given playing time in 2020, finishing with 1,852 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions across nine total games, and the team was just 2-5 in his starts.

So when Chicago drafted Fields, he walked into a quarterbacks room with not one, but two proven—but by this point in their careers, wildly inconsistent—veterans in the mix. That's a lot of voices (and potentially big egos) at one position.

Dalton was named the starter before the season began but Fields ultimately took over that position, and all three men saw the field in 2021.

That quarterback room didn't last long. Dalton signed in New Orleans the following offseason and Foles was cut shortly after. That wasn't the only change—head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace were fired and replaced by Matt Eberflus and Ryan Poles, respectively.

Fields remained, though he never emerged as a no-brainer franchise option and seemed to struggle with accuracy, progressing through his reads and making quick decisions. So when Chicago ended with the top overall pick in this year's NFL draft and had the opportunity to select USC star Caleb Williams, the decision seemed easy enough, and the team traded Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

There will be arguments about whether Chicago ever truly put Fields in the best position to win or surrounded him with viable weapons. If he thrives in Pittsburgh, that talk will only intensify.

Regardless, he'll find himself in a familiar position in the Steel City, backing up another proven but past-his-prime veteran in Russell Wilson. The Steelers will be hoping the situation isn't as awkward or prickly as Fields' time with Foles and Dalton in 2021.

Carson Wentz: Nick Foles Praising Chiefs in Past Factored into FA Contract Decision

Carson Wentz and Nick Foles will be forever linked through their tenure as teammates with the Philadelphia Eagles, but that connection also helped bring Wentz to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaking to reporters during his introductory press conference on Thursday, Wentz said it was Foles' praise for the Chiefs during his time in Kansas City that helped sell him on the organization:

"I remember all the good things he had to say about his time here. He absolutely loved it. He loved working with those guys and those things he said to me back then definitely still ranked true in my head as I was making this decision. I just remember all the positive things he said about the organization, coaches ... Those things were definitely a factor and gave me a little more peace and comfort in knowing what I was getting into."

Wentz agreed to a one-year deal with the Chiefs on Monday that will make him the backup to Patrick Mahomes next season.

Foles spent the 2016 season in Kansas City backing up Alex Smith. He appeared in three games and made one start with the Chiefs.

After the Chiefs declined Foles' option for the 2017 season, he returned to Philadelphia where he spent the first three years of his career.

When Wentz suffered a torn ACL late in the year, Foles took over as the starter. He turned in one of the all-time great postseason runs with 971 passing yards, six touchdowns and a 72.6 completion percentage in three games to help the Eagles win the Super Bowl.

Wentz has settled into a role as a backup quarterback at this stage of his career. He made one start for the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18 last season.

The Chiefs will present Wentz with the opportunity to work with Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid. He's unlikely to see much playing time, barring an injury to Mahomes, but his extensive starting experience will have him prepared if he has to step in at any point during the 2024 campaign.

49ers' Jauan Jennings Matches Nick Foles Feat with Super Bowl 58 TDs vs. Chiefs

Jauan Jennings took full advantage of his chance to play on the national stage the Super Bowl provides.

As ESPN's Field Yates noted, the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver joined former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles as the only players in Super Bowl history to throw and catch a touchdown in the same game.

The first touchdown of the contest came on a trick play that saw Jennings throw to Christian McCaffrey, and the 49ers' second one came in the fourth quarter with the team trailing. He hauled in a Brock Purdy pass to give San Francisco the lead in the back-and-forth affair.

Foles won the Super Bowl over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots and took home the game's MVP. Jennings put himself on the short list of contenders to win the MVP in this year's matchup, although that would require winning the game like Foles' team did.

But regardless of how the rest of the game plays out, Jennings certainly became more of a household name for his showing in the Super Bowl.
