Formula 1 Racing fans will have a new way to experience the thrill of the sport firsthand from the comfort of their homes in just a couple months.

On Wednesday, EA Sports unveiled the trailer for the upcoming F1 25 and announced that the new video game will be released on May 30. Star driver Lewis Hamilton, who is the game's cover star, promoted the trailer on social media, giving fans a first taste of the gameplay and exciting features:

This year's release will mark the 18th entry in the F1 video game series. Players will be able to choose between the Standard Edition and the Iconic Edition, the latter of which features a host of added features.

"F1 25 delivers more ways for players to experience Formula 1 and race their way, from the drama of Braking Point to making headlines in the pursuit of World Championship glory," Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters, said in a press release. "This year, there are new opportunities for players to connect, collaborate, and compete than ever before. We look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks."

Formula 1 celebrated its 75th anniversary this season, and the 2025 campaign was highlighted by Hamilton's unprecedented departure from Mercedes to join Ferrari.

F1 25 will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game is available for pre-order now, and players who own F1 23 or F1 24 can score a 15 percent pre-order discount for the Iconic Edition.

Cadillac has been confirmed as the 11th team in Formula 1 racing.

F1 announced on Friday that Cadillac will officially join the grid starting with the 2026 season.

Friday's announcement comes after F1 and General Motors reached an agreement in principle in November to bring a Cadillac team to the circuit.

As part of the agreement, GM revealed it would be launching an F1 power unit that is going to put the Cadillac team on track to being a "full works" team by the end of this decade.

A full works team builds its own F1 vehicles and power units.

The agreement in November also included an announcement that Mario Andretti will serve as a director on the Cadillac F1 team's board.

"My first love was Formula 1 and now—70 years later—the F1 paddock is still my happy place. I’m absolutely thrilled with Cadillac, Formula 1, Mark Walter, and Dan Towriss," Andretti said. "To still be involved at this stage of my life—I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming."

Per Nate Saunders of ESPN, Cadillac will race with Ferrari engines for the time being until its power unit is operational.

No drivers have been announced for the new team at this point. Saunders cited Sergio Pérez and Daniel Ricciardo as two marquee free agents after they parted ways with Red Bull at the end of 2024.

Colton Herta was considered a top choice to join Cadillac, but he told reporters on Monday that it's "not a sure thing" he departs the IndyCar Series for F1 after the 2025 season.

Cadillac becomes the first new team to join F1 since Haas in 2016. The 2025 F1 season begins on March 16 with the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park Circuit.

Ahead of the start of the 2025 Formula One season, Lewis Hamilton is ready to show his doubters he has a lot more left in the tank after turning 40 on Jan. 7.

Speaking to Sean Gregory of Time, Hamilton explained "I'm built different" and invoked the names of legends like LeBron James and Tom Brady as examples of athletes who continued to perform at a high level into their 40s:

"I’m the first and only Black driver that’s ever been in this sport. I’m built different. I’ve been through a lot. I’ve had my own journey. You can’t compare me to another 40-year-old, past or present, Formula One driver in history. Because they are nothing like me. I’m hungry, driven, don’t have a wife and kids. I’m focused on one thing, and that’s winning. That’s my No. 1 priority."

James is on his way to another All-NBA selection this season at the age of 40. He's averaging 24.7 points, 8.7 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game in 52 starts for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Brady played six NFL seasons after turning 40. He won an MVP award at the age of 40 in 2017, won two Super Bowl titles in 2018 and 2020, and finished second in MVP voting as a 44-year-old during the 2021 season.

The 2025 season marks a significant change for Hamilton. He will be racing for Ferrari after spending 11 years in the Mercedes family.

Hamilton signed a two-year extension with Mercedes in the summer of 2023 that was expected to keep him under that banner through 2025, but ESPN's Laurence Edmonson noted it came with an opt out after 2024.

Per Lawrence Barretto of F1.com, Hamilton originally wanted a three-year contract and Mercedes only offered one before the two sides compromised on a one-year agreement with an option for a second.

One of the most dominant F1 drivers of all-time, Hamilton's seven championships are tied with Michael Schumacher for the most in history. He has struggled in recent years with just one top-three overall standings finish the past three seasons.

Hamilton's seventh-place finish in the 2024 season was the worst of his career. He will be tasked with bringing Ferrari, which hasn't had a driver win a championship since Kimi Räikkönen in 2007, back to prominence.

The 2025 F1 season begins on March 16 with the Australian Grand Prix.

Formula 1 Racing star Lewis Hamilton's move from Mercedes to Ferrari got off to a bit of a bumpy start.

During a preseason testing session in Barcelona on Wednesday, Hamilton had a minor crash, though he suffered no injuries and is reportedly "doing well." F1 journalist Scott Mitchell-Malm reported that the crash occurred when he made contact with the barriers, but the damage caused can be fixed on Wednesday.

A seven-time world champion and arguably the greatest racer in F1 history, Hamilton started his professional career with McLaren in 2007 before joining Mercedes in 2013. He signed with Ferrari last winter on a multi-year contract starting with the 2025 season.

Upon joining Ferrari, Hamilton said he was fulfilling a "childhood dream" by following in the footsteps of racing legend Michael Schumacher.

"You go to the Italian Grand Prix and you see the sea of red Ferrari fans and you can only stand in awe of that. It's a team that's not had huge success recently, since 2007, and I saw it as a huge challenge," Hamilton said at the time. "Without a doubt, even as a kid, I used to play [on games] as Michael in that car, so it definitely is a dream and I'm really, really excited about it."

According to Luke Smith of The Athletic, Hamilton visited Ferrari's factory in Maranello, Italy, last week and participated in a short test run at its Fiorano test track. His minor crash on Wednesday occurred in the team's 2023 F1 car as part of a three-day test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

F1's testing regulations allow teams to conduct 1,000km of private test running per year with their race drivers while using a car at least two years old. Smith noted that Hamilton is expected to make his first public appearance as a Ferrari driver at the F1 season launch event at The O2 on Feb. 18 before sampling his 2025 car for the first time during a short private run at Fiorano on Feb. 19.

Hamilton will get used to life as a Ferrari driver during F1's official pre-season test running in Bahrain from Feb. 26-28. He will then make his official debut for Ferrari in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix on March 16.

Anyone who wondered how Lewis Hamilton looked in red now has their answer.

On Wednesday, Ferrari posted video and photo of Hamilton taking his first lap in his new car ahead of the 2025 season.

The F1 legend previously took to social media and posted his first photograph wearing a Ferrari race suit along with an image of his new helmet. Hamilton won seven world drivers' championships during his illustrious career at Mercedes, but he is switching to Ferrari for the upcoming campaign.

This comes after Hamilton was met with plenty of fanfare and admiration during his first day with his new team:

He met with Ferrari's Formula 1 team principal Fred Vasseur, CEO Benedetto Vigna, chairman John Elkann and other team members in addition to the fans during his first official work with his new side.

While the switch to Ferrari will mean a new environment, cars and team around him, there will at least be a familiar face. Laurence Edmonson of ESPN reported Tuesday that Hamilton's former performance coach Angela Cullen is joining him once again at Ferrari.

Cullen worked with the seven-time champion from 2016 until early in the 2023 season when she left to work with Marcus Armstrong in IndyCar.

Now that the introductions are out of the way, the question becomes when will Hamilton start working with Ferrari's 2025 car.

Edmonson noted his first drive is expected to happen at its launch on Feb. 19, which will be an important first step. It will also be intriguing to see his reaction, as he was rather open about some of his concerns with Mercedes' cars during his final season.

Hamilton's move from Mercedes to Ferrari will be a major storyline during the 2025 season, especially as he and everyone else look to close the gap on Red Bull's Max Verstappen. While Verstappen is still behind Hamilton for overall championships, he has won the last four straight and figures to once again be the driver to beat in the new campaign.

With the start of the 2025 F1 season on the horizon, the Haas team has made a historic hire by naming Laura Mueller a race engineer.

Per The Athletic's Luke Smith, Haas confirmed Mueller's hiring that will make her the first full-time female race engineer in F1 history.

Mueller will work with Esteban Ocon for the upcoming season.

Ocon is entering his first season as a Haas driver after signing a multiyear deal with the team in July 2024 to partner with Ollie Bearman.

Smith noted Ocon and Mueller gained some experience working together in December during the Yas Marina Circuit test in Abu Dhabi.

Mueller's promotion was part of a wider reshuffle and restructure throughout the Haas Racing. Team principal Ayao Komatsu announced the changes were part of a "huge change" designed to improve their competitiveness on the track in 2025.

"We left too many points on the table from the trackside operations. So, we really needed to step up on that one," Komatsu said.

Haas originally hired Mueller in 2022 as a performance engineer.

"She's a pretty determined character," Komatsu said to describe Mueller. "And then she's very hardworking. Her work ethic is really, really good."

The race engineer serves as the main point of contact between the driver and the team. They are in the headset talking to them and guiding them through the race, providing feedback on ways to improve and offering insights into how other drives are navigating the track.

Ocon is set to begin his ninth full season competing in F1. He has finished in the top 15 in the overall standings every year since 2020, including a career-best eighth-place showing in 2022. His lone F1 victory thus far was at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Mueller's resume includes a stint as a race engineer in 2020 with the DragonSpeed team in the European Le Mans Series, as well as time in Germany with Abt Sportsline and the Manthey Racing team.

Lewis Hamilton's time with Mercedes has come to an end.

The British driver is leaving the Mercedes team to join Ferrari for next season. His last race came at the Abu Dhabi GP, where he finished fourth after beginning in 16th. Before stepping out of the car a final time, he made sure to show off some theatrics:

He reflected on the previous year and said that while it featured highs and lows, he was happy it finished on a strong note.

"It's been a really turbulent year, probably the longest year of my life," Hamilton said, per ESPN. "I would say, because we've known it from the beginning that we're leaving. It's like a relationship, when you've told whoever the counterpart is that you're leaving, but you're living together for a whole year. Lots of ups and downs, emotionally, but we finished off with a high today."

He also reflected that he was sentimental this week and that it has been "hard to let go."

"Every moment that I've got in the car this week I've known that it's one of the last," Hamilton said. "It's been really, really clear, and really hard to let go."

He spent 12 years with Mercedes, winning 84 races and six drivers championships. He finished seventh in the drivers standings in 2024, which was his lowest finish in his professional career.

Hamilton will join a Ferrari team headlined by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz that finished second in the Constructors standings behind McLaren.

Lando Norris earned his fourth win of the 2024 Formula One season in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and secured the constructors' title for McLaren in the process.

With Max Verstappen already crowned the champion for a fourth straight year, the head-to-head battle between McLaren and Ferrari provided the biggest subplot at Yas Marina Circuit. Twenty-one points separated the teams going into the race.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc both getting onto the podium wasn't enough for Ferrari to close the gap.

Norris, who started from the pole, had a straightforward Sunday to cap off his best-ever F1 campaign. He maintained an early lead on Sainz and the gap only grew as the race unfolded. Nearly six seconds separated them at the end.

The drama was reserved for the rest of the field.

On the opening lap, Verstappen and Oscar Piastri made contact, with Piastri spinning out off the track.

After reviewing the sequence, race stewards assessed a 10-second penalty to Verstappen for initiating the contact.

Red Bull's day quickly got worse when Sergio Pérez came together with Valtteri Bottas on the second lap and sustained enough damage to his car that he couldn't continue. Thus that's how Pérez's run with Red Bull is reportedly drawing to a close.

Piastri subsequently found himself on the wrong side of a stewards' ruling for an incident on the first lap that didn't involve Verstappen. The McLaren star rear-ended Franco Colapinto, which resulted in a DNF for the Argentine driver.

Piastri received his own 10-second penalty, which sent him tumbling down the leaderboard as his team tried to keep Ferrari at bay. Fortunately, Norris' efforts meant that didn't matter.

Sunday saw a legendary era conclude with Lewis Hamilton leaving Mercedes for Ferrari in 2025. There was no storybook ending, though the seven-time champion made the most of the tough hand he got dealt.

Hamilton knew his hopes of a podium finish were effectively gone after a disappointing qualifying run. He would've started in 18th were it not for penalties to Colapinto and Leclerc.

A fourth-place showing wasn't too bad all things considered, but the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix summed up what has been a frustrating last few years for Hamilton with Mercedes.

Maybe the 39-year-old becomes a viable championship threat again with Ferrari.

The Australian Grand Prix will kick off Formula One's 2025 season on March 16, with all roads leading back to Yas Marina Circuit next December.

While Verstappen will undoubtedly enter as the favorite, he could have some serious challengers in Norris and Hamilton.

Formula One superstar Max Verstappen announced Friday that he and his girlfriend, Brazilian model Kelly Piquet, are expecting their first child together.

Verstappen revealed the news in an Instagram post that included a photo of himself and Piquet along with the caption: "Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way."

The 27-year-old Verstappen is in the midst of one of the most dominant runs in F1 history, as he recently clinched his fourth consecutive title.

Although there is still one race left in the 2024 F1 season, Verstappen's fifth-place finish in the Las Vegas Grand Prix last month was enough to ensure that his points lead would be insurmountable.

The Dutch and Belgian driver made his F1 debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2014 before making the move to Red Bull Racing in 2016.

Verstappen won his first career race with Red Bull in 2016, and he has finished sixth or better in the points standings every year since then.

After winning a remarkable 19 races last season, Verstappen has nine wins to his credit this season, and he is already third on the career wins list with 63 behind only Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.

Verstappen will cap another championship season Sunday when he competes in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen apparently had choice words for George Russell prior to the Qatar Grand Prix.

The pair attended a stewards' hearing following a tense moment in qualifying. Once the meeting concluded, Russell said Verstappen threatened he would "purposefully go out of his way to crash into me and 'put me on my f--king head in the wall,'" per ESPN's Nate Saunders.

Verstappen wasted little time denying he made the comments and said Russell is "exaggerating again."

"Do you know what I can't stand? The way he attacks me unacceptably with the stewards and then acts like nothing happened the next day, patting me on the shoulder," the four-time Formula One champion said, per Laurence Edmondson of ESPN.

"I think, 'Stay away from me.' He invents all sorts of nonsense. With me, you always get the same: here, at home, with the stewards—I don't change.

Verstappen also said Russell is "a backstabber" and "just a loser."

The 27-year-old didn't earn his "Mad Max" nickname due to his courtesy and geniality. While he has toned down his racing style somewhat, he hasn't exactly gone out of his way to make friends on and off the track.

Russell described Verstappen as a "bully" who has been enabled by the powers that be.

"Whenever anything is not going his way, he lashes out with unnecessary anger and borderline violence," Russell said. "That is not a guy who I respect and I wish he would be a better role model."

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the final race of the 2024 F1 season.

Verstappen already clinched the title, while Red Bull is too far behind to win the constructors' championship. The ongoing war of words between the Dutch star and Russell will at least provide some intrigue to what would otherwise be a straightforward conclusion Sunday.
