During Memorial Day weekend, All Elite Wrestling will return to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to host Double or Nothing.

The event famously kicked off the promotion's maiden run in 2019 as its first pay-per-view. As such, it's a significant moment for the relatively new brand as it returns to the venue with a fifth-anniversary show.

AEW started 2024 with two stellar offerings, Revolution and Dynasty, and its upcoming event on May 26 looks just as promising. This year's card will feature Mercedes Moné's in-ring debut as her showdown with Willow Nightingale was the first match announced.

Meanwhile, Will Ospreay will look to add to his growing list of top-notch PPV performances when he challenges Roderick Strong for the international title. The latest episode of Dynamite also set up this year's Anarchy in the Arena match as the new Elite will take on Team AEW.

The following matches have been announced for Double or Nothing 2024:

  • Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Moné: AEW TBS Championship
  • Roderick Strong vs. Will Ospreay: AEW International Championship
  • "Timeless" Toni Storm vs. Serena Deeb: AEW Women's World Championship
  • The Elite (Jack Perry, Kazuchika Okada, Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) vs. Team AEW (Bryan Danielson, Eddie Kingston, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)
  • Swerve Strickland vs. Christian Cage: AEW World Championship

Most of the title matches have been set, but these three matchups will also likely make this year's card.

Bullet Club Gold vs. Death Triangle: Unified World Trios Championship

Bullet Club Gold defeated The Acclaimed at Dynasty to unify the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team and AEW World Trios Championship.

The Bang Bang Gang successfully defended the mantle against Action Andretti and Top Flight on the April 27 episode of Collision. Following the latest edition of Dynamite, Death Triangle could be their opponents at Double or Nothing.

After all, Rey Fenix returned on the same episode of Collision, and Arkady Aura asked PAC about his former team in a backstage segment on Wednesday. Afterward, Jay White and the Gunns interrupted him to say no one was concerned with the Death Triangle.

This prompted The Bastard to confront them later, seemingly setting up a reunion and potential trios title match.

Trent Beretta vs. Orange Cassidy

AEW planted the seeds for this one-on-one match after Trent Beretta turned on Orange Cassidy on April 3.

This shocking development came after Best Friends fell to The Young Bucks in the semifinals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament. In the closing segment of Dynamite, Beretta took out his frustrations on his long-time friend, leaving Sue and Chuck Taylor confused.

In the following weeks, the 37-year-old continued to clash with Cassidy and put Taylor on the shelf after their parking lot brawl. Although the two finally met in the ring on this week's episode of Dynamite, this feud is far from over.

It's hard to believe AEW would tie this on weekly television. This grudge match belongs on a bigger stage. Expect these former stablemates to face off in a rematch, possibly with a stipulation, at Double or Nothing in the next few weeks.

Adam Copeland vs. Malakai Black: AEW TNT Championship

Adam Copeland is on pace to defend the AEW TNT Championship against Malakai Black at the upcoming PPV.

The House of Black defeated the team Copeland, Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe at Dynasty. The group's enigmatic leader pinned The Rated-R Superstar after he spewed mist in his eye while the referee was distracted.

Ever since, the 50-year-old has successfully defended his title against Buddy Matthews and Brody King. It's only a matter of time before he takes on The Ominous Man from Amsterdam himself.

There are also hints that Black's trademark mist is corrupting Copeland as he coaxes him to be "the cold-hearted son of a b---h he used to be." This storyline will probably continue to play out at Double or Nothing.

Young Bucks Beat FTR with Jack Perry's Help to Win AEW Tag Team Titles at Dynasty

The Young Bucks defeated FTR at AEW Dynasty on Sunday to win the vacant AEW World Tag Team Championships.

"Jungle Boy" Jack Perry interfered in the match toward the end, allowing the Bucks to climb the ladder and claim the titles for the third time.

After Sting and Darby Allin beat The Young Bucks at Revolution in Sting's retirement match, the AEW World Tag Team Championships were vacated, and a tournament was held to determine the next titleholders.

Given their status as two of the top tag teams in the world in recent years, it was widely expected that The Young Bucks and FTR would run the table and reach the tournament finals, and they did precisely that.

Matt and Nick Jackson beat Private Party in the quarterfinals and Best Friends in the semifinals to clinch their spot, while Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler took down The Infantry, followed by Top Flight.

With that, it set the stage for The Young Bucks and FTR to reignite perhaps the most significant tag team rivalry in the history of AEW.

The teams previously faced each other in two-on-two tag team matches three times in AEW with The Young Bucks winning at Full Gear 2020, followed by FTR winning on an April 2022 episode of Dynamite and at All In 2023.

During the build toward their title match at Dynasty, The Young Bucks created some controversy by showing footage of a backstage altercation at All In prior to their match against FTR.

The footage showed CM Punk confronting "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry before pushing him and putting Perry in a front face lock. Several wrestlers and backstage personnel broke it up, and it led directly to Punk's firing and eventual return to WWE.

Matt and Nick Jackson claimed that since they are executive vice presidents in AEW, they had to put their focus on the fight rather than on their match with FTR, which is why they lost.

Harwood and Wheeler, who are known to be cost friends with Punk didn't buy the explanation, although showing the footage clearly agitated them.

Getting under FTR's skin seemed to pay dividends, as The Young Bucks won at Dynasty and became the first three-time tag team champions in AEW history.
