Terrace Marshall Jr., Eagles Reportedly Agree to Contract After Raiders Stint

Andrew Peters

Colts Panthers Football

The Philadelphia Eagles are adding to their wide receiver room as they prepare to defend their Super Bowl victory.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Eagles and Terrance Marshall Jr. agreed to terms on a one-year deal. The deal comes after Marshall's stint with the Las Vegas Raiders that lasted less than a season.

Marshall was a second-round draft pick in 2021, starting his career with the Carolina Panthers. His best season came in 2022 when he recorded 490 receiving yards and a touchdown across 14 games. After the big second season, he struggled a bit in his third campaign with just 139 receiving yards and 19 receptions.

Following the mediocre 2023 season, the Panthers waived Marshall ahead of the 2024 season. Shortly after his Carolina exit, Marshall joined the San Francisco 49ers practice squad but was waived in October.

He then signed to the Raiders' practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in October. He played seven games with Las Vegas last season, recording three receptions for 41 yards.

Marshall's career hasn't gone as he would have liked through four seasons, as he has just 808 receiving yards and one touchdown, but he's still just 24 years old and could finally break out as a member of the Eagles.

Though his production hasn't been fantastic just yet, Marshall garnered some interest this offseason. Before signing with Philadelphia, he reportedly visited the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans, but ultimately felt the reigning champs were the right team for him.

The Eagles already have a pair of star receivers in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, so Marshall likely won't get a bulk of the targets from Jalen Hurts, but Philadelphia clearly believes he can add something to the offense, and he'll look to do that this year.

Eagles' Jeffrey Lurie Hints at Nick Sirianni Contract Extension After Super Bowl Win

AMFOOT-SUPERBOWL-CHIEFS-EAGLES

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie hinted on Tuesday that head coach Nick Sirianni will soon be receiving a contract extension.

"You guys will find out soon enough that Nick will be our coach moving forward," he told reporters.

General manager Howie Roseman is also sticking around Philly for the foreseeable future, as expected:

Lurie also noted that the Eagles would continue to be aggressive in their strategy of signing their own players to extensions or free agents with deals that are heavy on cash upfront and push the cap implications down the line with void years.

"Our cash over cap has been high, and it'll continue to be," he told reporters. "I only know one way. ... If you want to win big, you better plan ahead."

Ad Placeholder

That planning ahead this offseason has included letting Milton Williams, Josh Sweat and Mekhi Bechton walk in free agency, among others, while trading Chauncey Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans. Those decisions were made in the spirit of remaining flexible down the line, with extensions soon due to players like star center Cam Jurgens and superstar defensive tackle Jalen Carter.

Ad Placeholder

For the Eagles, that means Roseman nailing the draft will be key. Given his hits over the past four drafts—players like Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Jalyx Hunt, Carter, Nolan Smith, Jordan Davis, Jurgens, Nakobe Dean (before he was injured), DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson and Williams all played key roles in the team's run to the Super Bowl title this season—there's reason to believe Roseman will continue to work his magic in April.

It also means Sirianni getting the most of the talent on hand.

Ad Placeholder

Thus far, he's done that and then some. Despite nearly losing his job after the end of the 2023's epic collapse, the 43-year-old head coach is now 48-20 in the regular season, 6-3 in the playoffs, has led Philly to postseason appearances in all four of his years on the job—including a pair of Super Bowl appearances—and of course, this year's title.

Roseman is often credited as the main architect of Philly's success, given the talent he's accumulated. But through multiple offensive and defensive coordinators and an always-shifting roster, Sirianni continues to win in Philadelphia. In that regard, an extension was inevitable.

Lane Johnson: 'Very Possible' I Won't Retire Until 2027 When Eagles Contract Expires

NFC Championship Game: Washington Commanders v Philadelphia Eagles

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles have seen multiple franchise icons retire in the past 12 months, they may not have to worry about Lane Johnson joining them in the near future.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Johnson said it's "very possible" he will continue playing until the end of his current contract, which runs through the 2027 season.

Johnson did hedge a little bit by saying at this point in his life and career that "you take it year-by-year."

Leading up to the Super Bowl last month, Johnson quickly shut down any retirement talk when he was asked about it:

"I'm definitely not retiring after this game, win or lose. I'm definitely playing next year. That's really how you take it—I guess when you get up in age—one year at a time. But physically, I feel a lot better than I have in the past probably couple [of] years. I feel really good. For being this late in the year, it's usually not like that. I'm thankful. We've got a good team here to help us with all that."

The Eagles rewarded Johnson with a new contract on Monday that adds one year to his deal and pays him $48 million over the next two seasons. He is now the second-highest-paid right tackle in the NFL, behind Penei Sewell of the Detroit Lions.

Johnson has been a staple of Philadelphia's offensive line since 2013 when he was drafted with the No. 4 overall pick. He has started all 173 games he's played in his career between the regular season (158) and playoffs (15).

Now 34 years old, Johnson seems to be getting better with age. He has made the All-Pro team in each of the past four seasons, including a first-team selection in 2022.

Even though the end is closer for Johnson than the beginning, it sounds like he will continue to take his spot on the right side of their offensive line for at least the next three seasons before the Eagles have to start thinking about a succession plan.

Brandon Graham Retires After 15 NFL Seasons; Won 2 Super Bowls with Eagles

Super Bowl LIX: Kansas City Chiefs v Philadelphia Eagles

Brandon Graham is ending his NFL career on the highest of high notes after helping the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl 59.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Graham announced he is retiring after spending his entire 15-year NFL career with the Eagles.

Graham, whose 2024 season was thought to be over due to a torn triceps suffered in a Week 12 win over the Los Angeles Rams, was activated off injured reserve for the Super Bowl.

The 36-year-old played 13 snaps in the 40-22 victory over the Chiefs. He said coming into the season that 2024 was going to be his final year, but seemed to keep the door open for next season after the Super Bowl.

Several of Graham's current and former Eagles teammates showed up to support him, including Fletcher Cox and Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles thanked Graham for all that he brought to the organization over the past 15 seasons, including a statement from team owner Jeffrey Lurie.

Graham is the Eagles' all-time leader in games played at 206. The players directly behind him at No. 2 and 3 are Jason Kelce (193) and Fletcher Cox (188), who both retired last year.

That trio was drafted in consecutive years, starting with Graham in 2010, Kelce in 2011 and Cox in 2012. They helped form the foundation of the team that led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl title in 2017.

Graham forever became a Philadelphia sports icon on Feb. 4, 2018. His strip sack of Tom Brady late in the fourth quarter helped seal the Eagles' 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots.

Ad Placeholder

Selected with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2010 draft, Graham didn't become a full-time starter until his sixth season. He was named to the All-Pro second team in 2016 and led the team with 9.5 sacks during their Super Bowl year in 2017.

Graham ranks third all-time in franchise history with 76.5 career sacks. There's been a spot reserved in the Eagles' Hall of Fame for Graham for years whenever his career ended and the team could put together a proper ceremony to honor his contributions to the organization.

It shouldn't take long for them to arrange things now that Graham has officially decided to walk away after a storied 15-year career.

Report: Lane Johnson, Eagles Rework Contract; Add $30M in Guaranteed Money

Scott Polacek
Mar 17, 2025
Pittsburgh Steelers v Philadelphia Eagles

Lane Johnson is in line to remain with the Philadelphia Eagles through at least the 2027 season.

Philadelphia announced it agreed to a one-year contract extension with its star offensive tackle Monday:

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the reworked deal means Johnson will make $48 million over the next two years with $40 million guaranteed. Ultimately, the move added $8 million over the next two seasons and an additional $30 million guaranteed.

While Johnson will be 35 years old next season, it is no surprise the Eagles want to keep him for even longer.

He has surpassed the elevated expectations that were put in place when the NFC East team selected him with the No. 4 overall pick of the 2013 NFL draft and has been a franchise cornerstone over his 12 seasons.

Ad Placeholder

Johnson's resume includes two Super Bowl championships, two First-Team All-Pro selections and six Pro Bowl nods. He also hasn't appeared to slow any with age, as he is coming off a third straight Pro Bowl selection.

The Oklahoma product appeared in 15 regular-season games and then all four playoff games during the 2024 campaign and helped open holes for Saquon Barkley while protecting Jalen Hurts.

Pro Football Focus gave him an impressive overall player grade of 85.4 for his efforts, underscoring how important he is for the entire offense to operate as planned.

Ad Placeholder

Regardless of his performance over the rest of his contract, he will forever be an Eagles legend for being so dominant for so long and helping bring them two Super Bowl rings. It's not often an offensive lineman is one of the faces of the franchise, but that is certainly the case with Johnson and Philadelphia.

And there is no reason to think he won't continue to perform at a high level as he plays out the rest of his deal with the only NFL team he has ever known.

Eagles Have 5 Top 100 2026 NFL Draft Picks Amid Compensation for Free Agent Exits

Adam Wells

Super Bowl LIX: Kansas City Chiefs v Philadelphia Eagles

Howie season is in full effect right now for the Philadelphia Eagles, who are poised to have five top-100 picks in the 2026 NFL draft thanks to their losses in free agency this offseason.

In the wake of Mekhi Becton signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter noted the Eagles will receive compensatory picks in rounds three, four, five and six in 2026 on top of the extra third-rounder they already had from the New York Jets from the Hasson Reddick trade.

All told, the Eagles will likely end up with five selections in the top 100 and 12 overall picks in 2026.

Ad Placeholder

The Eagles have let several key contributors to their Super Bowl team from last season leave. Becton, Josh Sweat, Milton Williams and Darius Slay have all signed with other teams as free agents. James Bradberry IV was released on Wednesday.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded to the Houston Texans for Kenyon Green. The two teams swapped 2026 picks in the deal, with the Eagles getting a fifth-rounder and Houston receiving a sixth-rounder.

Ad Placeholder

That's six members of the defense that helped the Eagles finish second in the NFL in points allowed per game last season no longer on the roster. This wasn't an unexpected approach by the defending Super Bowl champs this offseason.

General manager Howie Roseman made a point of wanting to stockpile as many draft picks as possible in part because after their last Super Bowl win in the 2017 season, his approach was to keep that roster intact even though they already had the eighth-oldest roster in the NFL.

NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark noted the Eagles are doing all they can now to maintain as much cap flexibility going forward because they want to be able to keep their core group together.

Ad Placeholder

Jalen Carter will be extension eligible after next season. Jordan Davis is eligible for an extension for the first time this offseason, but he could have two more years on his rookie deal if his fifth-year option gets picked up this offseason.

Ad Placeholder

Dallas Goedert is entering the final season of his current contract. Lane Johnson is only signed through 2026 and will turn 35 in May, though he has dismissed retirement being on his radar.

All of those contracts are going to be huge decisions for Roseman. There's also the possibility that Jalen Hurts, who is signed through 2028, could look for a new deal now that recent extensions for others have pushed his $51 million average annual salary down to 10th among all quarterbacks.

It's also just an incredibly smart team-building strategy to give yourself as many picks as possible. The draft is a glorified crap shoot, so being able to bring in a dozen new players in a given year is a great way to replenish your talent base.

When you add in the 2025 draft, the Eagles are currently set to have 20 picks over the next two years.

After hitting a home run with their 2024 rookie class, it's no wonder that Roseman would want to go back to that well many times again in the future to ensure the Eagles are well-positioned to compete for Super Bowls every year.

Report: Joshua Uche, Eagles Agree to Contract After Super Bowl Run with Chiefs

Joseph Zucker
Mar 13, 2025
NFL: NOV 24 Chiefs at Panthers

The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to a one-year deal with linebacker Joshua Uche, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Uche made 13 appearances for the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, finishing with 23 total tackles and two sacks.

The 26-year-old was used sparingly by Kansas City. He was inactive for four straight weeks in December and didn't log a single playoff snap. The coaching staff didn't seem to know his best role from the moment he arrived, and that never changed.

Uche's 11.5 sacks in 2022 will be cited as a reason for optimism regarding his signing, but that season has been a massive outlier in his career. He has never registered more than three sacks in any of his other four years.

Ad Placeholder

The Eagles will be looking to the 6'1", 240-pound defender to provide some depth to a defense that's undergoing massive turnover in the wake of winning Super Bowl LIX.

General manager Howie Roseman has been savvy in constructing a talent-laden roster, but the salary cap comes for every team sooner or later. An exodus was inevitable in Philadelphia.

Ad Placeholder

The Eagles caught lightning in a bottle with linebacker Zack Baun, who turned into an All-Pro in 2024 after four nondescript seasons with the New Orleans Saints. For the foreseeable future, every minor free-agent signing will be compared to him in terms of upside.

Maybe the stars align for Uche and he has a massive campaign with Philly, but expectations for him are likely to be pretty muted.

Falcons FA Justin Simmons Says Eagles are 'High on the List' in 2025 NFL Free Agency

Adam Wells
Mar 12, 2025
NFL: JAN 05 Panthers at Falcons

After the Philadelphia Eagles traded C.J. Gardner-Johnson on Tuesday, Justin Simmons is looking at the reigning Super Bowl champs as a potential landing spot in free agency.

Appearing on the Talkin' Ball podcast with Pat Leonard (starts at 7:30 mark), Simmons said the Eagles are "high on the list" of teams he would have interest in joining.

Gardner-Johnson, who started 16 games for Philadelphia last season, was traded to the Houston Texans in exchange for offensive lineman Kenyon Green. The two teams also swapped late-round picks in the 2026 draft.

Any potential interest the Eagles might have in Simmons could come down to cost. John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia noted Philadelphia is trying to keep as much money available to lock in its core players.

Ad Placeholder

There is also a possibility the Eagles want to give Sydney Brown, a third-round pick in the 2023 draft, a chance to prove he can be a starter at safety going forward.

Simmons has plenty of familiarity with key members of the Eagles defensive coaching staff from his time with the Denver Broncos. Vic Fangio was his head coach for three seasons from 2019 to '21.

Ad Placeholder

Eagles defensive backs coach Christian Parker previously served in the same role for the Broncos from 2021 to '23. Simmons was named to the All-Pro second team four times in five seasons from 2019 to '23.

Simmons spent the 2024 campaign with the Atlanta Falcons after signing a one-year deal in August. He recorded 62 combined tackles and ranked third on the team with seven pass breakups.

The Eagles don't really need Simmons right now given how strong their defense is, but it never hurts to have too much depth in the secondary if that's a direction they decide to go in. His familiarity with their coaching staff could give them a leg up if they want to pursue him.

NFL Insider Predicts Saquon Barkley's Historic Eagles Contract Won't Shift RB Market

Paul Kasabian
Mar 7, 2025
Super Bowl LIX - Kansas City Chiefs v Philadelphia Eagles

Multiple NFL sources do not believe that Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley's historic two-year, $41.2 million contract extension will change the market for players at his position, as told to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.

"Good players are going to get paid well," a league source told Pryor. "But I don't think the trend is all of a sudden to pay running backs because of Saquon."

An AFC talent evaluator seemed to agree with that notion.

"It's going to give pause to folks who maybe haven't invested in running backs to rethink that," the evaluator said to Pryor. "But I'm not sure it's going to move the needle so much that you see a real sea change across the entire position."

The Eagles signed Barkley to a three-year, $37.75 million contract with $26 million guaranteed last offseason. He rewarded the Eagles with an NFL-record 2,504 rushing yards (including playoffs) en route to the team's second Lombardi Trophy. In 20 total games, Barkley finished with 2,857 scrimmage yards and 20 scores.

Ad Placeholder

Now Barkley is under contract with the Eagles through 2028.

The deal made history via the average annual value. He's now the first-ever $20 million-plus per-year running back in NFL history, per Schefter. Barkley can also get $15 million more in incentives and escalators, and he got $36 million fully guaranteed at signing.

Needless to say, it's a great deal for Barkley, but perhaps not one that's about to lead to other running backs breaking the bank.

Simply put, Barkley got this deal because he enjoyed a record-breaking running back season, one that propelled the Eagles to a Super Bowl win. Teams perhaps aren't likely to pay their running backs more based on what Barkley just accomplished in a one-off, historic campaign.

Still, one can't help but notice the great impact Barkley had on his team's Super Bowl season. It's not impossible to see teams who have a good talent core and offensive line (as the Eagles did) invest heavily in a running back and hope for similar success.

For now, though, Barkley is enjoying a well-deserved deal after a great season.

Saquon Barkley, Eagles Agree to Reported Record $41M Contract After Super Bowl Win

Doric Sam
Mar 4, 2025

After helping to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to victory in Super Bowl LIX, star running back Saquon Barkley was rewarded in historic fashion.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles signed Barkley to a two-year, $41.2 million contract extension that makes him the highest-paid running back in NFL history and the first at his position ever to make over $20 million per year. The deal includes $36 million fully guaranteed at signing, and Barkley can earn an additional $15 million through incentives and contract escalators.

"Overflow! Grateful for the Eagles Organization , grateful for my team, grateful for the amazing fans in Philly," Barkley wrote on Instagram. "Fly Eagles Fly."

Ad Placeholder

The extension for Barkley comes less than a year after he signed a three-year deal with the Eagles. Schefter called it a "rare step" for Philadelphia to extend his contract so quickly.

After spending the first six years with the New York Giants, the Pennsylvania native chose to sign with the NFC East rival Eagles last offseason. It turned out to be a match made in heaven, as Barkley had a resurgent year that re-established him as one of the best running backs in the league.

Ad Placeholder

In 16 games last season, Barkley led the league with 345 carries and 2,005 rushing yards while adding 13 touchdowns. He was just the ninth running back in league history to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark, and he would've had a shot at breaking Eric Dickerson's single-season record of 2,105 yards had he not sat out the regular-season finale. He also had 33 catches for 278 yards and two more scores, giving him a league-high 2,283 scrimmage yards and helping him earn AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Barkley carried his stellar play into the postseason, racking up 499 rushing yards and five touchdowns across four games. He helped the Eagles avenge their Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs two years ago, as the team dominated the Chiefs 40-22 this time around.

Keeping Barkley in the fold with Tuesday's extension will cement the Eagles as one of the top title contenders for years to come.
