The Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated no more.

The Buffalo Bills handed them their first loss of the season on Sunday, 30-21, snapping a 15-game win streak that dated back to December of last year.

Josh Allen, who continues to play at an MVP level, had an outstanding game in the win, throwing for 262 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception while adding 57 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. With just over two minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Allen helped seal the game with a gutsy 26-yard rushing touchdown on fourth down.

On the other side of the ball, Patrick Mahomes had an up-and-down game with 196 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions, and it wasn't enough to keep his team undefeated.

After the win, fans had high praise for Allen and Buffalo for handing Kansas City its first loss of the year.

It seems only fitting that the Bills ended the Chiefs' bid for a perfect season considering how things have played out between the two teams in recent years. If the trend continues, it's also likely Buffalo and Kansas City will see each other later this year in the playoffs, which would almost certainly make for another thrilling matchup.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper, who has been out two weeks with a left wrist injury, is optimistic about his chances to return Sunday at home versus the Kansas City Chiefs.

"Yeah, I do," Cooper told reporters Thursday (h/t ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg) when asked if he thought he was trending toward playing.

"Definitely feeling better," Cooper added. "Definitely more comfortable. So, just ready to play football again."

Cooper suffered the injury during his team's 31-10 road win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, Oct. 27. He's been limited at practice since the ailment and has been wearing a cast, per Getzenberg. However, Cooper notably caught passes from starting quarterback Josh Allen in a routes-on-air drill Thursday.

Cooper would keep the cast on if he's activated. He said that he doesn't experience pain when catching the ball but has to get used to doing so with a cast.

The Bills acquired the 10-year NFL veteran from the Cleveland Browns via trade prior to Week 7. The five-time Pro Bowler has 29 receptions for 319 yards and three touchdowns in eight games this season. For his career, the 30-year-old Cooper has 696 receptions, 9,805 receiving yards and 63 touchdowns.

The ex-Alabama star's potential return is a welcome sight for a team that remains without rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman, who has already been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with a wrist injury previously suffered on Nov. 3 against the Miami Dolphins. Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Coleman, who is not on injured reserve, is "improving" but not ready to come back.

This, of course, is also a massive game for the Bills. A win gives them a far greater chance to chase down the 9-0 Chiefs for the AFC's No. 1 seed, as Buffalo would be 9-2 with the head-to-head tiebreaker. A loss all but shuts that door, as the Bills would be three losses behind Kansas City without a chance to pass them on a two-way tie.

So getting Cooper back here would be a huge boost for a Bills team that could face a stiff test against a Chiefs team that's allowed the fifth-fewest points in the NFL. Kickoff on Sunday is set for 4:25 p.m. ET in Orchard Park, New York.

Legendary former quarterback Tom Brady appears to have found his groove in his new career as an NFL analyst.

Brady seemed as comfortable as ever as he called Sunday's game between the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks on Fox, which ended in a 31-10 win for the Bills. The 47-year-old's analysis helped make for a smooth broadcast alongside his play-by-play partner Kevin Burkhardt.

Buffalo gave Brady much to praise, as star quarterback Josh Allen threw for 283 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while running back James Cook rushed for 111 yards and two scores.

It may have taken some time, but Brady has shown enough improvements so far that should build confidence in his ability to continue his development as an analyst.

With Fox broadcasting Super Bowl LIX in February, all eyes and ears will be on the seven-time champion, so it's encouraging that he's already earning praise from fans.

It can be expected that Brady will be ready to impress fans again next week.

Amari Cooper is ready to ramp up his involvement in the Buffalo Bills' offense ahead of his second game with the team.

"I mean, I think that's why they traded for me, definitely ready for an increased role, definitely ready for more opportunities," Cooper said on Thursday, per ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg. "I'm ready to pounce on it."

The five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver was on the field for just 19 snaps during Buffalo's 34-10 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 7. Cooper caught four of his five targets for 66 yards, which included a 12-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

The Bills were cautious with Cooper's playing time, as he was acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns just five days before the matchup with Tennessee.

The 30-year-old confirmed that he's spending extra time before and after practice to get Buffalo's game plan down and learn offensive coordinator Joe Brady's playbook, per Getzenberg.

"Just hearing it more, seeing the plays more," Cooper said. "That's pretty much it, doing that, obviously communicating with Josh [Allen], everybody else."

While the Bills opened the 2024 season with a 4-2 record prior to the trade, the need for a true No. 1 wide receiver became apparent. Stefon Diggs, who led the team in targets during each of the past four years, was dealt to the Houston Texans in April.

Cooper was averaging a career-low 41.7 yards per game in his first six appearances with Cleveland this season, but he racked up 1,250 yards during his 2023 campaign and should thrive alongside Josh Allen in the Bills' No. 5 scoring offense.

He's expected to receive an expanded role in Buffalo's next contest, a matchup with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET.

While speaking to reporters, Coleman was asked about the moment he appeared to tell Cooper which route to run, but he said the veteran was just double-checking to make sure he was right.

"Nah, man. He knows the plays, I just helped him confirm it," Coleman said.

Cooper hauled in four catches for 66 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown in the third quarter of Buffalo's 34-10 win over the Tennessee Titans. When further pressed about the pre-snap communication before the touchdown reception, Coleman said there's no harm in being meticulous.

"That's the name of the game. You can never get fined for over-communicating, making sure everybody's doing what they need to do," Coleman said.

For his part, Cooper explained after the game that there was an audible included in that play, which is likely why he checked with Coleman to confirm what they were running.

"We had an alert on the play built in, predicated on if we got a specific look," he said. "We got the look that we wanted, we checked to it, and it worked just like it did in practice."

The Bills acquired Cooper from the Cleveland Browns last Tuesday, and he immediately showed he can be a reliable option on the outside for quarterback Josh Allen. Buffalo's receiving corps now includes an impressive trio of receivers in Cooper, Coleman and Khalil Shakir, as well as talented tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox.

The Bills (5-2) will be seeking their third win in a row when they visit the Seattle Seahawks (4-3) next Sunday.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is already impressed with his new teammate.

The Bills acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper last week to give Allen a talented receiver to work with. The connection paid off in Week 7, as Cooper had four catches for 66 yards and a touchdown in the Bills 34-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Following the game, Allen spoke with A.J. Ross of CBS Sports about Cooper and how the wide receiver was able to learn on the fly and make an impact in the game.

"He worked his tail off this week," Allen said. "It's not easy to come to a new team, learn the system and be able to play in an actual game. Hat's off to him for his professionalism, the way that he learned and to the coaching staff for getting him ready to go."

Allen later spoke more about the developing rapport between himself and Cooper and credited the receiver's experience as something that makes the transition easier.

"I think being seven years in the league now, just like understanding guys of [Cooper's] caliber, they don't need a lot. They go out there, give him a clear mind, let him go play," Allen said, per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN. "That's what he did out there a couple times, just finding zones, finding windows. He made a really good catch on that slant. But, again, just the professionalism that he has, the ability that he has, just trusting what I see with him, and things will turn out pretty good."

Cooper had 25 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns prior to the trade. This came for a Browns team that was 1-5 and struggling to produce on offense.

He had 72 catches for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns in 2023 and has been named to five Pro Bowls in his career. He should assume the Bills No. 1 receiver role and give Allen a steady option to lean on.

The Bills improved to 5-2 with the win and appear poised to claim the AFC East for the fifth consecutive season. As the franchise looks to contend with the top teams in the AFC, it will hope that the Allen-Cooper connection can be explosive and difficult to defend against.

After arriving via a trade with the Cleveland Browns this week, wide receiver Amari Cooper expressed excitement over the prospect of joining forces with quarterback Josh Allen as a member of the Buffalo Bills.

Speaking to reporters for the first time since Tuesday's trade, Cooper praised Allen on Wednesday and suggested that he is looking forward to building a connection with him on the field:

"As far as the way [Allen] plays, I mean, it's phenomenal. Every time I turn on the television and watch him play, he plays with a lot of grit, a lot of hustle, he plays hard, and obviously he's been one of the top quarterbacks in the game for a while now. So, just to be able to play with him and experience that in person, I think it's going to be real cool."

Through six games, Allen is firmly in the NFL MVP conversation, as the Bills lead the AFC East with a 4-2 record, and he is completing 62.8 percent of his passes for 1,160 yards, 10 touchdowns and no interceptions, while also rushing for 178 yards and three scores.

Turnovers have long been an issue for Allen, as he threw 14 or more interceptions in three consecutive seasons entering the 2024 campaign, but he is the only primary starting quarterback who still has yet to throw a pick this season.

Allen is doing all of this without a clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver since Buffalo traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans during the offseason after Diggs had four straight seasons with at least 100 receptions, 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns with the Bills.

Buffalo has been preaching an "everybody eats" mentality rather than focusing on a single offensive weapon, and while that worked out well amid a 3-0 start, back-to-back losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans may have caused general manager Brandon Beane to take stock of the situation.

The Bills bounced back in Week 6 with a 23-20 road win over the AFC East rival New York Jets, and just hours after the Jets acquired wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, the Bills made a move for Cooper.

Buffalo gave up a 2025 third-round pick and 2026 seventh-round pick for Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick, giving them the proven commodity they have lacked at wideout.

The 30-year-old Cooper is a five-time Pro Bowler with seven career 1,000-yard seasons to his credit. That includes the career-high 1,250 yards he racked up with the Browns last season despite playing with five different quarterbacks.

Cooper will have much more stability in Buffalo with Allen under center, and Cooper's arrival should allow other receivers such as Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel and rookie Keon Coleman to slot into far more suitable roles.

Amari Cooper posted a cryptic message on social media after being traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday.

The star wide receiver posted "Move or rust" on his Instagram story following the deal. It's unclear exactly what he means by the message, but it seems like he might be happy to be playing for a new team.

While Cooper hadn't expressed any past desire to be traded from the Browns, the way the season has gone so far would likely be enough for him to want out. The 30-year-old has just 250 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns through six games as Cleveland has gone 1-5.

The Browns have one of the worst offenses in the NFL this year behind quarterback Deshaun Watson's disastrous start. They have the third-fewest passing yards per game (143), the third-fewest passing touchdowns (5) and the third-fewest points per game (15.8).

Cooper has posted back-to-back seasons with 1,000-plus receiving yard seasons but is far from on pace of doing so again in Cleveland's sluggish offense.

He'll now join a Bills team that needed a true WR1 following Stefon Diggs' offseason exit and catch passes from star quarterback Josh Allen.

The 4-2 Bills have had decent success on offense this year with the seventh-most points per game, but the addition of Cooper could make things even better. While he might not replace the talent of Diggs, he at least gives Buffalo a reliable option downfield as it looks to compete for a Super Bowl.

Valdes-Scantling signed a one-year deal with Buffalo reportedly worth up to $4.5 million. He ultimately proved to have a limited role in the passing game.

In six games, the 30-year-old had two receptions for 26 yards and was on the field for just 39 percent of the Bills' offensive snaps.

Despite his lackluster production so far, Valdes-Scantling may land on his feet before the season ends thanks to his experience and past track record. Two possible suitors immediately jumped out.

MVS played alongside Aaron Rodgers for four seasons with the Green Bay Packers and led the NFL in yards per reception (20.9) in 2020. There are few things the New York Jets love more right now than reuniting Rodgers with old teammates.

During a two-year spell with the Kansas City Chiefs, Valdes-Scantling wasn't a model of consistency but did step up when it mattered the most. He had 250 receiving yards and three touchdowns in seven playoff appearances. Signing him would make sense with Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown out for the year.
