After Team USA's epic comeback victory over Serbia in the semifinals of the Paris Olympics on Thursday, the star duo of LeBron James and Stephen Curry found each other for an emotional celebration.

James and Curry were hyped and yelled back and forth to one another as they embraced following the 95-91 win:

Team USA entered the fourth quarter facing a 13-point deficit and looked to be in danger of having its Olympic gold-medal streak end at four. However, the star-studded group showed its resilience by outscoring Serbia 32-15 in the frame.

Team USA leaned on its collection of NBA MVPs to complete the comeback. Curry led the way with 36 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the field and 9-of-14 from beyond the arc while adding eight rebounds, two assists and a steal. Joel Embiid posted 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and a block. James had a triple-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Kevin Durant hit some key baskets down the stretch and finished with nine points off the bench.

It was the third meeting between the two teams in the last three weeks, with Team USA defeating Serbia during its exhibition showcase and again at the start of group play at the Olympics.

Serbia put forth a spirited effort and made it clear that the third time around would not be as easy. Bogdan Bogdanoviฤ‡ of the Atlanta Hawks had a team-high 20 points, while three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic added 17 points and 11 assists. Still, it wasn't enough to get past the incredible collection of talent on Team USA.

The Americans will look to earn their fifth straight Olympic gold medal when they play a marquee matchup against France in the final on Saturday.

USA's Grant Holloway Wins 110m Hurdles Gold at Olympics; Daniel Roberts Takes Silver

The United States continued its stellar showing on the track at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

USA's Grant Holloway earned the gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles on Thursday with a time of 12.99 seconds. He was joined on the podium by his teammate Daniel Roberts, who took home the silver medal. Jamaica's Rasheed Broadbell earned the bronze.

This is the first Olympic gold medal for Holloway, completing an extraordinary career in his signature event. He had already won three world championships in the 110-meter hurdles, as well as a Diamond League title, two world indoor championships and two world indoor tour titles.

Thursday's victory also brings some redemption for Holloway after a disappointing showing at the Tokyo Games in 2021 where he entered as the favorite but was upset by gold medalist Hansle Parchment of Jamaica. He began the race with a lead through the first 60 meters but surprisingly stumbled over the seventh hurdle, causing him to fall behind and finish in second.

Despite the shadow of the Tokyo Olympics hanging over him, Holloway entered Thursday's race with confidence.

"You guys think about Tokyo a lot, but we're in Paris," Holloway told reporters prior to the race. "I'm looking forward to continuing to show the great form that I'm in. โ€ฆ Everybody is talking about a world record. If it comes, it comes. The first thing we have to take care of is winning."

Holloway did just that, continuing USA's dominance in this year's Track & Field competitions. He is now the sixth American gold medalist runner, joining Noah Lyles (men's 100m), Quincy Hall (men's 400m), Cole Hocker (men's 1,500m), Gabrielle Thomas (women's 200m) and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (women's 400m hurdles).

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone set the world record on her way to winning back-to-back golds in the women's 400-meter hurdles.

The now two-time Olympic champion blew past the field in the final 100 meters on her way to setting the world-record time of 50.37 seconds.

McLaughlin-Levrone was level with her closest rival, Femke Bol of the Netherlands, through the middle of the race, but she was in a class of her own as the race hit its final stage.

Results

1. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (United States) - 50.37 seconds

2. Anna Cockrell (United States) - 51.87

3. Femke Bol (Netherlands) - 52.15

4. Jasmine Jones (United States) - 52.29

5. Rushell Clayton (Jamaica) - 52.68

6. Shiann Salmon (Jamaica) - 53.29

7. Savannah Sutherland (Canada) - 53.88

8. Louise Maraval (France) - 54.53

McLaughlin-Levrone led a fantastic overall race for Team USA.

The Americans finished in first, second and fourth. Anna Cockrell took silver in front of Femke Bol and Jasmine Jones finished one place outside of the medal podium.

McLaughlin-Levrone appeared to have some competition from Bol as she reached the halfway point, but any threat to her gold medal went away after that.

The two-time gold medalist surged in the final 200 meters to chase the new world record time and open up an advantage of over a second.

McLaughlin-Levrone became the first woman to ever repeat her gold medal triumph in the 400-meter hurdles.

Team USA has been in possession of the gold medal in the event since the 2012 London Games.

In fact, the finishing order was the same by nationality from the Tokyo and Paris Games.

An American took silver behind McLaughlin-Levrone both times and Bol came home with the bronze on both occasions.

Thursday's triumph marked the eighth gold medal and 25th overall medal in track and field at the Paris Games for Team USA.

Noah Lyles Ran Olympic 200m Final with COVID; Needed Wheelchair After Bronze Medal

United States star Noah Lyles, who was taken off the track in a wheelchair after winning bronze in the 200-meter final at the Paris Olympics on Thursday, competed after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

Lyles, visibly exhausted, sat down on the track after completing the race and received medical attention just past the finish line.

Lyles finished Thursday's race in 19.70 seconds, just behind his United States teammate Kenny Bednarek, who won silver, and Botswana's Letsile Tebogo, who won gold.

Though Lyles earned bronze, ESPN's Coley Harvey reported that he was given a yellow card for violating Technical Rule 7.1, which falls under "improper conduct." Why he was given the penalty is still unclear.

Lyles has had an impressive showing at his second Olympics. Last week, the 27-year-old gave the United States its first gold medal in the 100-meter since 2004, beating Jamaica's Kishane Thompson in a photo finish. Lyles finished with a personal-best time of 9.784 while Thompson finished with a time of 9.789.

The bronze medal on Thursday gives him his second medal of this year's games and third of his Olympic career, as he also won bronze in the 200-meter in Toyko in 2021.

Lyles was scheduled to compete with the men's 4x100-meter relay team on Thursday morning but sat out as the team qualified for the final. Whether he will compete with them moving forward is unclear.

Prediction

The French defense has been the difference in this year's Olympic Games.

Les Bleus have conceded just one goal the entire tournament in their semifinal victory over Morocco. They block, intercept and limit the number of shots on goal. They make scoring difficult while showing an ability to put the ball in the net almost at will.

Their 11 goals in these Olympics tie them with their opponent, Spain, for most in the tournament.

The biggest issue facing France as it attempts to win its first gold medal since 1984 will be the pressure to win at Parc des Princes. Les Bleus are playing on home soil, in front of what is sure to be a raucous crowd.

Will the pressure to succeed prove too much for the men's team?

Spain is young, possesses excellent ball skills and can exhaust opponents simply by running them around the pitch. Like France, La Roja are excellent scorers who can keep up with opponents, thanks to their ability to find the net quickly.

If the French allow the pressure to get to them, they could easily find themselves in an unfamiliar position in these Olympics: at a deficit.

Still, Spain's defense can be suspect, as evidenced by the fact that it has allowed a goal in every match except its quarterfinal showdown with Japan. That leaves them susceptible to a potent French attack, which could well prove to be the difference.

Ultimately, finding a weakness in the French team is nearly impossible. It has played every facet of the game flawlessly and should be rewarded Friday with a gold medal four decades in the making.

Prediction: France takes the gold medal.

16-Year-Old Quincy Wilson Will Be Youngest Ever to Rep USA in Olympic Track and Field

Quincy Wilson will be making history at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 16-year-old will participate as part of the men's 4x400-meter relay team on Friday, becoming the youngest American male to participate in an Olympic track and field event (via ESPN's Coley Harvey).

"Tune in Friday morning," Wilson wrote in the caption of an Instagram post on Thursday, seemingly confirming his impending Olympic debut.

Wilson will lead off for the U.S. relay on Friday (h/t Yahoo Sports' Jeff Eisenberg).

Wilson's trip to Paris started after he secured a time of 45.19 seconds at the 2024 Florida Relays, earning an automatic bid into the United States Olympic trials. While he was unable to qualify during the individual 400-meter dash at trials, he was still selected to the men's relay pool.

"When I got the call, I was like, I was ecstatic," Wilson said, per Harvey. "I started running around the house. It was just a moment for me because everybody dreams about going to the Olympics as a young kid."

Despite his failure to qualify in the 400-meter dash, he still looked impressive during trials. He snapped Darrell Robinson's 42-year-old record among under-18 athletes on multiple occasions, starting off with a first-round time of 44.66 seconds. Wilson broke his own record two days later, recording a time of 44.59 seconds in the semifinals.

He's received praise from several of his U.S. teammates, as 100-meter dash gold medalist Noah Lyles has publicly expressed his support for Wilson in numerous social media posts.

Although the teenager missed 4x400-meter mixed relay heats in Paris, he'll still be able to make an impact in his first Olympic appearance. Wilson will be joining a relay team that will be looking to defend a gold medal victory during the Tokyo Games.

He'll officially make his debut on Friday at 5:05 a.m. ET.

It was an impressive return for the U.S. after the team previously failed to qualify for the final during the event in the Tokyo Olympics. After coming off a gold medal performance in the 4x100m during the 2023 world championships, the United States built off its momentum despite Lyles' absence.

Jamaica was unable to earn a spot in the final for the first time since 2004, finishing in fifth place during the second heat. The Jamaican team previously won the event in 2012 and 2016, headlined by track legend Usain Bolt.

Kishane Thompson, the silver medalist in the 100-meter final, was a member of Jamaica's team on Thursday. However, he wasn't able to lead his team out of the qualifying round after the group finished with a time of 38.45 seconds.

Italy waited until the second heat to determine if it secured a spot in the final, as the Tokyo gold medalists eventually earned a spot. Japan also eventually its place in the final, finishing among the two fastest teams outside of the top three in each heat at 38.06 seconds.

Lyles could return to help the United States in the final, which will be on Friday at 1:47 p.m. ET.
