Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles made sure the spotlight was on Rebeca Andrade as the three stood on the podium following the floor exercise in the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The American pair bowed as the Brazilian gymnast celebrated her gold medal victory.

Andrade narrowly edged out Biles for first place with just 0.033 points separating the two.

Monday's triumph must have felt cathartic on multiple levels.

The 25-year-old was the silver medalist behind Biles in both the individual all-around and the vault. Besting one of the greatest gymnasts in history at least once in the Summer Games is something she'll be able to savor forever.

Andrade has suffered three separate ACL tears across her career, the last of which limited her participation in the Tokyo Games. Brazil was unable to qualify as a team, though Andrade did taste individual success.

This time, she was able to maximize her time in the Summer Olympics, including helping Brazil to bronze in team all-around.

No gymnast garnered more attention than Biles, for obvious reasons. The 2024 Paris Games were also a great showcase for Andrade, though, as she became the most decorated athlete ever from her country.

Simone Biles closed out the 2024 Summer Olympics with a silver in the women's floor exercise.

The star gymnast posted a score of 14.133 to earn her fourth medal of the Paris Games. That brings her career total to 11 overall. Brazil's Rebeca Andrade came out on top to win her second Olympic gold. Jordan Chiles rounded out the podium.

Women's Floor Exercise Medal Results

Gold: Rebeca Andrade (Brazil), 14.166

Silver: Simone Biles (United States), 14.133

Bronze: Jordan Chiles (United States), 13.766

Biles had to mentally regroup after a slip in the balance beam relegated her to fifth place in the event earlier in the day. The floor exercise provided an opportunity to end the Paris Games on a high.

The 27-year-old posted the highest score in qualifying by some distance and also had the best performance on the floor during the team and individual all-around competitions.

While Biles didn't have one mistake that proved costly, but multiple minors deductions combined to put her just below Andrade.

Chiles, who was the last gymnast to perform, gave the United States one more shot to add to its medal haul.

It initially looked like the 23-year-old was shut out of a podium spot. The judges gave her a 13.666 score, which put her fourth and below Romania's Ana Barbosu. However, the U.S. submitted an inquiry that resulted in her getting bumped up to 13.766 and ahead of Barbosu.

Biles hasn't ruled out competing for a place on Team USA at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, though she joked she's "getting really old." This was in all likelihood her last Olympic go-round.

Assuming that's the case, Biles went out on top despite failing to collect another gold Monday.

The men's horizontal bar competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics literally could not have been any closer.

Japan's Shinnosuke Oka and Colombia's Angel Barajas tied with an overall score of 14.533 during Monday's final, with Oka taking home gold and Barajas grabbing silver due to the execution score tiebreaker. Oka received an execution score of 8.633, besting Barajas' score of 7.933.

There was also a tie in the bronze standings, with China's Zhang Boheng and Tang Chia-Hung of Chinese Taipei each scoring 13.966. Because both men had the same execution score, they were each awarded a bronze medal.

Men's Horizontal Bar Final

Gold: Shinnosuke Oka (Japan): 14.533

Silver: Angel Barajas (Colombia): 14.533

Bronze: Zhang Boheng (China): 13.966

Bronze: Tang Chia-Hung (Chinese Taipei): 13.966

Oka already established himself as one of the rising names in men's gymnastics by winning the all-around and helping lead Japan to a victory in the team competition as well. The 20-year-old took home bronze in the parallel bars earlier Monday as well.

Japan is tied for sixth with Great Britain with 10 gold medals and tied with South Korea for sixth on the overall medal count with 26.

Barajas' earned the first-ever medal in gymnastics for his country. It was also Colombia's first medal period at the 2024 Summer Games.

China remains second in the overall medal count (51) behind the United States (72) after Zhang's bronze. Chinese Taipei now has four total medals (one gold, three bronze) in its trip to Paris.

Noah Lyles isn't letting his close call in the 100 meters impact his confidence.

The United States track star said he plans on adding a second gold to his Paris Olympics experience in the upcoming 200-meter sprint.

Lyles defeated Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by five-thousandths of a second in the 100-meter dash over the weekend, earning his first career gold medal. The 27-year-old previously won bronze in the 200-meter race at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

The United States has been banking on Lyles brilliance on the track, as he was the first American to win gold in the 100-meter sprint since Justin Gatlin in 2004. This was also the first time the U.S. won two medals in the men's sprint since Gatlin and Maurice Green in Athens.

Once the most dominant country in the world in track-and-field, the U.S. watched as Jamaica ascended to the top over the last 20 years. The U.S. has also not won the 200-meter sprint since Shawn Crawford, Bernard Williams and Gatlin swept the medals 20 years ago.

Lyles remains the overwhelming favorite to capture a second gold, with DraftKings Sportsbook putting him at -675. He's won the world championships in the 200 each of the previous two years.

American teammate Kenneth Bednarek, who won silver in the 2020 Summer Games, is second on the odds list at +600.

NFL legend Tom Brady was on hand Monday to watch the final day of artistic gymnastics in the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The occasion was even more consequential as it's potentially the last time Simone Biles will compete in the Summer Games.

Monday was a mixed bag for the United States.

Team USA didn't have a representative in the men's parallel bars and then watched Simone Biles and Suni Lee both fall off the balance beam, thus missing out on a podium spot. Biles and Jordan Chiles went on to finish second and third respectively in the floor exercise.

Brady was clearly left impressed with Biles' routine.

Brady told People's Gillian Telling in June he planned on attending the Summer Olympics with his daughter, Vivian. The future Hall of Famer previously took a moment to get a selfie with U.S. rugby star Ilona Maher.

The trip presented the chance to see more than just the Olympians on display. Brady also met with South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley in the French capital.

This is probably when the 47-year-old feels good about his decision to retire from the NFL in 2023. Going to Paris for the Summer Games certainly beats working out at training camp.

Zou Jingyuan is once again taking home gold in the parallel bars.

The Chinese gymnast dominated the competition in Monday's final, putting up a score of 16.200 to put him 0.7 points ahead of silver medalist Illia Kovtun of Ukraine.

Men's Parallel Bars Medal Winners

Gold: Zou Jingyuan (China): 16.200

Silver: Illia Kovtun (Ukraine): 15.500

Bronze: Shinnosuke Oka (Japan): 15.300

Zou, 26, has now taken home three medals at the 2024 Paris Games. He previously won silver in the men's team competition and in the rings event.

China now leads all countries with 21 gold medals and is second behind the United States in overall medals.

Zou, who won gold in the same event three years ago in Tokyo, did not have to sweat much after putting together a jaw-dropping routine that made it impossible for anyone else to come close.

Kovtun scored a critical silver medal for Ukraine, which is now up to seven total medals in Paris.

Shinnosuke Oka, the 20-year-old who won the all-around competition to emerge among the rising stars in the sport, was narrowly behind in third place. Japan's 25 total medals ranks seventh among all countries.

Monday was the final day of artistic gymnastics competition in Paris.

USA's Simone Biles, Suni Lee Fail to Medal in Women's Balance Beam at 2024 Olympics

A place on the medal podium literally slipped away from Simone Biles and Suni Lee in the balance beam on Monday at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Biles finished in fifth after she landed awkwardly on the beam and lost her footing. Her stumble cost her dearly in her overall score (13.100) and left the door wide open for somebody else to claim gold.

The beam continued a strong Paris Games for Italy, which saw Alice D'Amato and Manila Esposito both medal after they contributed to their country's runner-up showing in the team all-around competition.

D'Amato staked out a special place in Italian gymnastics history.

Women's Balance Beam Medal Results

Gold: Alice D'Amato (Italy): 14.366

Silver: Zhou Yaqin (China), 14.100

Bronze: Manila Esposito (Italy), 14.000

Suni Lee, the other American in the event, also watched her medal hopes come crashing down when she fell off the beam during her routine. That she finished with a score of 13.100 and in sixth place was evidence of how strong performance was otherwise.

The 21-year-old still leaves Paris with a team gold and two individual bronzes.

Biles and Lee can at least take some comfort in knowing they weren't the only gymnasts who were unable to stay on the beam. The apparatus didn't seem to cause any issues earlier in the Games, but that wasn't the case in the final.

Artistic gymnastics draws to a close with the floor exercise. Biles and Jordan Chiles will represent Team USA, and for Biles, it could close the curtain on one of the most legendary careers the sport has ever seen.

USA's Jimmer Fredette Details Adductor Injury at Olympics, Says He Tore 2 Ligaments

Team USA star Jimmer Fredette revealed he suffered two torn ligaments in his adductor during the 2024 Summer Olympics.

"This is devastating for me as I have put two years into qualifying for the Olympics with this group who are my brothers," he wrote on Instagram, adding he expects to be out for six months.

The United States failed to advance out of pool play in the men's 3x3 basketball tournament after going 2-5.

Fredette said his injury came in Team USA's 19-17 loss to Poland. He finished with three points in the defeat and didn't appear for the remainder of the tournament.

Teams are only allotted four roster spots in the 3x3 event. Removing Fredette from the mix meant Canyon Barry, Kareem Maddox and Dylan Travis had to go the majority of the opening phase without anybody to bring off the bench. By the end, the trio appeared to be out of gas. The Netherlands blew out the United States 21-6 in the final game.

The broad performance from the U.S. men is raising wider systemic questions.

Team USA failed to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics but did finish runner-up at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in 2023. The squad that went to Paris was the same one that came up one win short of gold in Vienna, Austria, a year ago.

Were it not for Fredette's injury, the United States might've had a much different outcome in the pool phase.

Noah Lyles Says 'I Told You America I Got This!' After Winning Olympic Gold Medal

Noah Lyles delivered on his promise.

The track star said he could be the person who gave the United States its first gold medal in the 100-meter since 2004, and he did on Sunday.

After winning gold in a miraculous photo finish, Lyles posted some photos from the race with the caption, "I Told You America I Got This!"

After the race, he also talked about how having the gold medal in his hands "fueled" him.

Lyles ran a personal-best 9.784-second time, but the race couldn't have been much closer. He edged out Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by just 0.005 seconds in a race that came down to a photo review.

Lyles said that he wasn't even aware he had won until a few moments after the race was over. He even told Thompson that he thought he had won.

"We were waiting for the names to pop up, and I'm going to be honest, I came over [to Thompson] and I was like: 'I think you got that one, big dawg!'" Lyles said per ESPN's Coley Harvey. "Something said I need to lean, and I was like, 'I'm going to lean,' because it's that type of race."

Thompson entered Sunday's race with the fastest time in the world this year at 9.77 seconds, but Lyles had just enough to take gold at the Olympics. America's Fred Kerley won bronze with a time of 9.81 seconds.

Lyles, 27, earned his first gold medal with Sunday's win. His only previous medal came in 2021 when earned bronze in the 200-meter in Tokyo. He'll get the chance to compete for another gold in that event next week.

Even if he can't bring another gold medal back home from Paris, Lyles has left his mark after an outstanding performance on Sunday.

Noah Lyles' victory in the 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics was far from a landslide.

The American sprinter won the race by a mere 0.004 seconds with a time of 9.79 to secure the victory. While that margin is slim on its own, those 0.004 seconds were the only seconds that he led the race.

Jonathan Gault of LetsRun.com reported that Lyles was in last place at the 40m mark of the race and did not pull away for the victory until the final steps of the race. He was seventh at the 50m mark and did not reach even second place until the 90m mark.

This is Lyles' first Olympic medal and he became the 16th American to win the 100m at the Olympics. He is the first since Justin Gatlin in 2004.

Kishane Thompson of Jamaica took home the silver medal while American Fred Kerley took home the bronze. This is also the first time the U.S. has had two medal winners in the event since 2004, when Maurice Greene reached the podium with Gatlin.

Lyles' Olympic Cycle is not over just yet as he still has two more races. He will compete in the 200m final on Monday and his final race will be in the 4x100m relay, which will occur on Friday.
