Jon Moxley Beats Swerve Strickland With Young Bucks' Help, Keeps AEW Title at Dynasty

Jon Moxley beat Swerve Strickland at Dynasty on Sunday night to retain the AEW World Championship.
Strickland had the clear upper hand here near the end after hitting Moxley with a chair and then a Swerve Stomp. However, the referee had been knocked out with an accidental chair shot from Moxley earlier in the match, so no one was there for the three-count.
The lights then went out at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When they turned back on, the Young Bucks were in the ring, each holding one of Strickland's arms. They then struck Strickland with the EVP Trigger before making their way out of the ring.
It was easy for Moxley from there as the referee gained his bearings just as the champion got his own. Moxley then pinned Strickland to retain the title.
And with that, Strickland suffered a tough and disappointing loss.
Beforehand, this match certainly had its moments, like when Strickland executed a Swerve Stomp off a ladder and through a table.
The match also became an all-out brawl with both men having their defenders, with Moxley flanked by the Death Riders and Strickland backed by Adam "Hangman" Page and The Opps.
In the end, Moxley kept his title reign intact.
At Revolution last month, Strickland did battle with Ricochet to determine the No. 1 contender for the AEW world title. Swerve emerged victorious in a physical encounter that featured no shortage of death-defying moves.
Later that night, Moxley put the AEW World Championship on the line against "The Rated-R Superstar" Cope in the main event.
Christian Cage interfered and cashed in the guaranteed title match he earned as a result of winning the Casino Gauntlet match.
Cage's interference ended up being to Cope's detriment, as Mox made Christian pass out in a bulldog choke, allowing him to retain the AEW World Championship.
After his victory, Moxley attempted to exit through the crowd with the briefcase holding his title belt in tow, but Strickland got the last word by hitting Mox with a double stomp from the stands to end the pay-per-view.
Given the controversial ending of their match at Revolution, Moxley and Cope had a rematch in a street fight on the March 19 episode of Dynamite.
Moxley took a ton of punishment at the hands of Cope, including being the unfortunate recipient of a suplex onto "Spike," which is Cope's baseball bat covered in nails.
Although Moxley had to have the bat pulled out of his back, he managed to rebound and made Cope pass out in the bulldog choke, just as he did to Christian.
That set the stage for Moxley vs. Strickland at Dynasty with Swerve setting out to put an end to the six-month reign of terror Mox and the Death Riders were on since he won the world title.
Despite his best efforts, Strickland fell short, leaving Moxley and his crew to continue their dominance over AEW.

Toni Storm Beats Megan Bayne to Retain AEW Women's Title at 2025 Dynasty

Toni Storm beat Megan Bayne at Dynasty on Sunday night to retain the AEW Women's World Championship.
Bayne certainly had the upper hand on occasion.
Storm definitely got the best of Bayne at times, though.
In the end, Bayne looked as if she would close the match after she set up Storm for Fate's Descent. However, Storm countered the finisher with a cradle for the pin and a win.
After dropping the women's world title to Mariah May at All In last year, Storm went on a soul-searching journey that saw her temporarily revert back to her old look and character before becoming "Timeless" Toni once again.
Determined to get revenge on her former friend and take back the women's title, Storm did exactly that at Grand Slam Australia in February by defeating May.
May got her rematch last month at Revolution in a Falls Count Anywhere match that proved to be one of the bloodiest, most brutal and best women's bouts in AEW history.
Storm won the match, ended her long-running rivalry with May and retained the title, but she didn't have the benefit of celebrating her victory for an extended period of time.
Bayne made her debut as a full-time member of the AEW roster in January, and she proceeded to go on a run of dominance, beating former TBS champion Kris Statlander and former AEW women's world champion Thunder Rosa in singles competition.
After establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the women's division, Bayne wasted no time in targeting Storm, as she attacked her on numerous occasions.
That led to a tag team match on the March 26 episode of Dynamite, pitting Bayne and Penelope Ford against Storm and Rosa. Bayne and Ford were victorious, giving The Megasus a ton of momentum heading into Dynasty.
As the bigger, stronger competitor, Bayne posed a massive threat to Storm, who was defending her title against an opponent other than May for the first time since winning it back.
While Bayne has all the makings of a future women's champ in AEW, Storm temporarily humbled her at Dynasty and maintained her place atop the AEW women's division.

Kenny Omega Retains AEW International Title vs. Ricochet, Mike Bailey at 2025 Dynasty

Kenny Omega defeated Ricochet and "Speedball" Mike Bailey in a three-way match at AEW Dynasty on Sunday to retain the International Championship.
This was a great match with some notable highlights, including Ricochet flipping Bailey onto Omega.
Ricochet certainly had his moments in this match. Later on, he took out both Omega and Bailey and put on a headset to chat about it.
However, all three wrestlers had their moments. Omega later threw a V-Trigger party.
Bailey got in on the action, like when he used the Karate Kid crane kick to knock down Ricochet.
The closing sequence started with all three men fighting on one of the turnbuckles. Omega, who was nearest the center of the ring, then hit Ricochet with an Avalanche One-Winged Angel. In the commotion, Bailey got stuck upside down in the ropes and was unable to break up the pin.
Before returning to beat Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty back in January, Omega missed just over one year of action due to diverticulitis.
It was unclear how the time away would impact Omega and his in-ring ability, but he and Kidd proverbially tore the house down, and he has continued to perform at a high level ever since.
Last month at Revolution, Omega challenged Konosuke Takeshita for the international title in a match that had been about a year and a half in the making.
Takeshita upset Omega at All Out in September 2023, and while Omega did team with Chris Jericho to beat Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher the following month on Dynamite, Omega was never truly able to get his revenge.
That changed at Revolution when Omega got the better of Takeshita and won his first AEW singles title since dropping the AEW World Championship in November 2021.
AEW moved quickly to determine a No. 1 contender for Omega after he became international champion, setting up a four-way match between Ricochet, Bailey, Mark Davis and Orange Cassidy on the March 19 episode of Dynamite.
Ricochet and Bailey managed to pin Davis at the same time, which resulted in both of them being granted a title opportunity against Omega at Dynasty.
Both Ricochet and Bailey are relatively new on the scene in AEW, as Ricochet debuted last year at All In, and Speedball arrived last month.
They each entered Dynasty in search of their first championship in AEW, but they were tasked with taking down arguably the company's all-time biggest star to do so.
Although Ricochet and Bailey acquitted themselves well, Omega emerged victorious in his first title defense.

Top Dynasty Matches to Watch
Jon Moxley vs. Swerve Strickland
For nearly six months, The Death Riders have run roughshod over AEW with Jon Moxley as world champion, but Swerve Strickland will look to change that at Dynasty.
Swerve won his first world title at Dynasty 2024 before dropping it to Bryan Danielson at All In. It was later Mox who turned on Danielson, beat him for the championship and retired him.
Strickland beat Ricochet to become No. 1 contender at Revolution, and after Moxley retained the title over Cope and Christian Cage in the main event, Swerve made his presence felt by hitting Mox with a double stomp from the crowd.
While Moxley always seems to have the numbers advantage, Swerve looks to be the biggest threat yet to his title reign, and he will undoubtedly have the crowd on his side.
Strickland has had numerous spectacular matches over the past year against the likes of Danielson, Joe, Ricochet, "Hangman" Adam Page and a host of others, leading to no shortage of excitement regarding what he can do with Mox.
On top of that, Moxley's matches always tend to have smoke and mirrors, interference and some unexpected moments, so it will be difficult to predict how Sunday's bout plays out.
Toni Storm vs. Megan Bayne
Less than three months after debuting as a full-time member of the AEW roster, Megan Bayne will challenge for the AEW Women's World Championship at Dynasty.
Bayne has been a dominant force during her short tenure, owning victories over former titleholders such as Kris Statlander and Thunder Rosa.
Emboldened by her victories, Bayne stepped up to Storm, and it wasn't long before "Timeless" Toni agreed to put the title on the line against The Megasus.
Storm is fresh off a highly emotional rivalry with former friend Mariah May, which saw Toni win back the title at Grand Slam Australia before successfully defending it against May in a Falls Count Anywhere match at Revolution.
Bayne presents a much different challenge than May due to her size and strength advantage, but it should make for an entertaining dichotomy in a match between two of the best women's wrestlers AEW has to offer.
Kenny Omega vs. Ricochet vs. Mike Bailey
After missing over a year due to injury, Kenny Omega is once again near the top of AEW, having defeated Konosuke Takeshita for the International Championship at Revolution last month.
While it would have been easy for Omega to rest on his laurels after a huge victory, he is already being met with a massive challenge at Dynasty in the form of two of the best high flyers in the world.
On the March 19 episode of Dynamite, a four-way match was held to determine Omega's challenger at Dynasty, but Ricochet and Bailey pinned Mark Davis at the same time.
Rather than having Ricochet and Bailey face each other in a singles match to settle the No. 1 contender, they are both being given the chance to take on Omega at Dynasty.
Omega, Ricochet and Bailey almost always deliver in the ring separately, so putting all three of them together very well may result in the match of the night at Dynasty.
